About you

You’re energetic, hard-working and goals-oriented. You’re looking for a work environment that welcomes varying points of view, embraces diverse experiences and helps to broaden your own. Additionally, with the support of your team, you’re not afraid to be courageously experimental––taking measured risks that have the potential to move the business forward and embody Udemy’s core value of #alwayslearning.

About this role:

We’re looking for a creative and tenacious Corporate Communications Manager to help promote our corporate narrative––raising Udemy’s visibility as the learning platform of choice to help individuals and organizations transition toward a skills-based economy––and elevate the company’s external engagements through executive positioning, media and stakeholder relations.

You have a proven track record of growing a company’s profile and you’re results-driven, with a passion for winning at an increasingly competitive media relations game. You’re hands-on and on top of the details. You love writing content that motivates and inspires. You enjoy working cross-functionally and with agencies to flawlessly execute corporate communications programs.

As a core member of the Global Communications Team, you’ll report to the Director of Corporate Communications. This is an incredible opportunity to help execute and grow Udemy’s corporate communications programming at a pivotal moment for the company.

What you'll be doing:

  • Responsible for day-to-day activities to support our corporate narrative and promote Udemy learners, instructors, enterprise customers and employees. Topics may include awards programming, corporate milestones, executive positioning, product announcements and other content relevant to our key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on the Global Communications Team, peers across Udemy and our external agencies, to develop programs that generate positive media coverage and enhance Udemy’s reputation.
  • Partner with other Udemy teams to identify and share powerful stories that support our corporate narrative.
  • Assist in driving executive thought leadership programs, including byline and speaking opportunity coordination.
  • Identify newsjacking opportunities for Udemy and our various learning solutions.
  • Balance priorities in a high-energy and always-evolving environment, including rapid-response media opportunities or issue management.
  • Manage monitoring and reporting for the Global Communications Team.

What you’ll have:

  • At least five years of professional experience in communications, journalism, media relations or public relations with a blend of agency and in-house communications experience preferred.
  • A firm understanding of communication best practices and approaches along with continued curiosity and excitement around emerging communications trends, techniques and channels.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and strong professional maturity with outstanding interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • A knack for problem-solving without drama, a can-do attitude, tenacity for flawless execution and a commitment to ongoing feedback and collaboration.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables simultaneously.
  • An eagerness to learn, grow and show initiative.
  • Creativity and confidence; the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where great ideas can come from everyone, at every level.
  •

We understand that not everyone will match each of the above qualifications. However, we also realize that everyone has unique experiences that can add value to our company. Even if you think your background might not perfectly align, we'd love to hear from you!

Life at Udemy

We aspire to be as vibrant and dynamic as the communities we serve, as inquisitive as those who use our platform, and as revolutionary as the future we strive to open for everyone. Here are some of the things we love about life at Udemy:

  • We’re invested in creating an inclusive environment that welcomes a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences. From creating employee resource groups, ensuring we’re a Fair Pay Workplace, and building a flexible work culture, our belonging, equity, diversity, and inclusion (BEDI) initiatives always put our people first. We want you to be able to bring your authentic self to work because when we all do, we’re better for it.
  • Learning is what we do – inside and out. Our Learning & Development team is second to none, helping ensure your journey is one of continuous progression. You’ll also have unlimited access to Udemy courses, monthly UDays (meeting-free professional development days), and a generous annual professional development stipend.
  • Our reason to exist is to revolutionize learning – that calls for taking risks and learning from failures. Whether it’s our hackathons (a company-wide effort to envision new possibilities for our product) or sharing our prototypes, we see experimentation as a crucial step on the path to success.
  • We’re committed to creating world-class employee experiences and are proud of the recognition of this by Great Place to Work. Learn more about our certification here and find out what it's like to work at Udemy on our blog.
