Counsel, Machine Learning and Managed Legal Review Specialist

As Relyance AI’s Counsel, Machine Learning and Managed Legal Review Specialist (Temp), you will partner with machine learning (ML) engineers, legal experts, and external vendors to enforce the highest quality in customer-facing predictions of ML models. Through managed legal review (MLR) initiatives, you will curate and deliver high-quality labeled data to train these models. By developing and improving QA and labeling workflows, you will play a central role in fostering the culture of high quality and operational efficiency necessary to drive 5-star customer experiences. To succeed in this role, you will have a strong attention to detail and an analytical mindset.

The role is a full-time temporary role initially set for 3 months with the possibility of extension.

As a Counsel and ML/MLR Specialist, your role will include:

• Performing QA of customer-facing content in the Relyance AI application (predictions of machine learning models in particular), finding patterns in errors, and reporting on your findings
• Collaborating with machine learning engineers and other legal experts to curate, QA, and deliver high-quality labeled data
• Developing and improving QA and data labeling workflows to drive operational efficiency
• Legal research projects to stay current on constantly evolving data protection topics

The skills you will bring include:

• A Juris Doctor (JD) degree, with an active bar license in at least one US jurisdiction
• 1+ years of managed legal document review or contract review experience
• Experience in a QA or QC role
• An analytical mindset and an ability to find patterns
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A self-starter with a sense of ownership, urgency, and enthusiasm
• An ability to handle ambiguity and changing priorities

Bonus points for:

• Experience with privacy-focused contract analysis
• Experience labeling ML data sets is highly preferred
• Basic knowledge of Python or other programming languages
• Interest in learning the processes surrounding the training of ML/AI models
