Meet the Content & Design team:
Part of the greater Marketing team, Content & Design operates like an in-house agency, producing strategy-based, performance-driven marketing materials for our consumer, merchant, and brand audiences. We turn strategic ideas and specific requests into fully produced pieces on brief and on brand.
About the job:
As Upside’s Creative Director, you will be responsible for the company’s overall creative vision. You will lead and grow a creative team of designers and copywriters to conceptualize and manage brand campaigns that drive brand awareness across all our audiences. Your work will help evolve Upside’s brand positioning and touch millions of people nationwide. We’re seeking someone creative who wants to grow their career at a mission-driven company.
What you’ll do:
- Develop and manage a unified creative vision for the company, from internal collateral to external brand campaigns across all audiences
- Manage and grow the Upside creative team — reviewing work, providing feedback, and nurturing creative ideas
- Lead the creative process from concept to completion
- Partner with external agencies for creative development and in-market execution as needed
- Partner with internal design, insights, product, and sales teams to find opportunities to elevate the Upside brand externally
What you need:
- 10+ years of professional creative experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher is required
- Familiarity with a variety of design software programs
- Experience developing brand campaigns
- Experience in a fast-paced company, preferably in tech
- Collaborative work style
- Creativity and humility – a willingness to work with others and incorporate feedback
- Insightful mentality that seeks to understand what audiences consume and how
- Self-starter work ethic, entrepreneurial personality that is comfortable with ambiguity
The fine print:
- Location: This is a fully-remote role that may sit anywhere in the United States. You're welcome to work from our DC, Austin, Chicago or New York office if you're in-region! Full Covid-19 vaccination is required to work from our Upside offices.
