About the team:
The Crypto Operations team is passionate about delivering an excellent end-customer experience and mitigating firm risk while supporting cutting-edge crypto products. As a Manager on the risk & response desk of the Crypto Operations team, you will be responsible for the identification, evaluation, mitigation, and response to risks faced by Robinhood Crypto (RHC). You will own the RHC risk program, assessing and reporting on risks and overseeing issue management, perform RCSAs, and strategize risk mitigation and control design and implementation, in current processes as well as future product offerings.
What you'll do day-to-day:

• Directing the risk management program to ensure it functions as designed, preparing to scale for growth and operate within compliance with applicable laws and regulations
• Building and overseeing the RHC Issue Management program to ensure program and product requirements are being handled correctly and with the business units, to ensure the proper management of identified issues
• Owning crypto operational risk management, including identification, analysis, assessment, monitoring, documentation, reporting and escalating to the risk and operating committee and the RHC board as needed
• Working closely with our engineering and product teams to launch, improve, de-risk, and scale Robinhood's products and systems and assessing potential business or product changes for risks and impact, providing input, and designing and implementing mitigation strategies and controls
• Working closely and interfacing with the other crypto operations desks, the crypto compliance team, and the enterprise internal audit and risk management teams to regularly and frequently take stock of current business risks and recommend or implement controls that mitigate risk
• Defining and monitoring key risk indicators, risk reporting and thresholds at the functional and entity level, performing initial and ongoing RCSA's on all RHC operational processes
• Overseeing and helping manage internal and external audits and management of reporting, governance and oversight activities
• Compiling Risk & Operating Committee meeting agendas and driving discussion and focus areas

About you:

• Familiarity with cryptocurrency products and blockchain technology
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• 5+ years risk experience in the financial services or technology space
• Detail-oriented and long-term mindset, ability to identify and mitigate risks proactively
• A track record for assessing emerging risks and designing and program-managing mitigation tactics
• Knowledge and understanding of the laws and regulations as it relates to risk management
• People manager experience
• Ability to work independently and coordinate across multiple functional groups
• Resourcefulness and agility in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience

Bonus points:

• 2+ years working in a cryptocurrency or financial services company
• Familiarity with cryptocurrency operations, custody security, and cryptocurrency regulations
• Risk Management certification
• Experience managing projects interfacing with technical and non-technical teams
