Our job as Curriculum Managers, a key role on the Udacity Content Team, is to create educational programs that deliver on this promise.
To teach our students in-demand, industry-relevant skills, Curriculum Managers partner with industry subject matter experts to build and update courses. As a Curriculum Manager, you will bring your technical background and pedagogical skills to translate our instructors’ domain expertise into effective learning experiences for our students. You’ll advocate for our students and for instructional quality through every step of course development, analyze student feedback to continue improving our content, and continually innovate on ways to improve instructor and student experiences.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with instructors and internal team members to design or update effective online content in an efficient timeframe.
- Onboard new instructors to the Udacity course development process, and coach them in effectively our tools and pedagogical best practices.
- Provide pedagogical feedback to instructors on the content they develop from the perspective of being the “first student”.
- Support instructors with incorporating videos, text, technical exercises, projects, code, and software environment into the Udacity classroom.
- Review and revise all course content as needed, including technical solutions, to ensure it satisfies Udacity quality standards and style guidelines.
- Analyze user testing data, and prioritize revisions to improve content effectiveness and student outcomes.
- Develop scopes for Udacity content by drawing on technical expertise, a growth mindset, and a can-do attitude.
- A strong foundation in data analysis and machine learning modeling
- Familiarity with SQL, Python libraries, and cloud services is a plus
- Experience using version control tools like git
- Ability to prioritize and effectively handle multiple assignments each week
- Experience using project management tools (e.g., Jira, Google suite)
- Prior teaching and curriculum development experience
- Ability to review educational content from a student perspective, identify areas for improvement, and prioritize revisions
- Understanding of online learning and content design
- Excellent English verbal, written, and copy-editing skills
- A flexible orientation and growth mindset
- Demonstrated history of learning and applying new technical skills
