WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
As a Engineer I in Cushioning Innovation you will be focused on learning how to setup, operate & maintain complex machinery to further our ability to create great new cushioning systems that help athletes* excel. You will be responsible for completing initial product runs & evaluating prototypes to prove out new concepts and manufacturing methods for Nike Air.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
As a teammate in the RIDE Labs, you will be a process focused creator who will operate plastics processing equipment including thermoforming machines, radio frequency welders, plus robotic apparatuses, laser welders, digital printers and a variety of other equipment in a manufacturing like laboratory setting.

You will also utilize testing equipment to evaluate the quality of prototype components for Air related Innovation projects and be responsible fo infoming project teams on topics related to the prototype and product creation process.
A typical day/week looks like this:
Setup and operate specialized RIDE Labs equipment and machinery to make prototype samples

Perform testing, record data, complete test reports and documentation as required by project teams

Develop and execute product creation and evaluation plans based on testing results and performance feedback
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
As our Engineer I in Cushioning Innovation you will work closely with our design team, simulation team, project managers and other innovators to invent, evaluate, understand, develop and improve Nike's Cushioning Technologies and the processes by which they are made.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Ability to work in a manufacturing like environment
• Comfortable running complex machinery with high regard for safety
• Good mechanical aptitude, problem solving skills and understanding of mechanical systems
• Basic understanding of 2-D and 3-D design for design reviews and evaluation
• Good written and oral communication skills related to process information & data
• Small scale electrical wiring and soldering capabilities a plus
• Experience with 3D Printing / Additive Manufacturing technologies is also a plus

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in STEM field with 0-1 years of relevant experience
• OR 3-5 years of relevant manufacturing experience or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes
• Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Demonstrated creative entrepreneurial innovation aptitude desired

Physical Demands

• Possible travel to meetings, vendor sites, conferences and tradeshows
