The world loves Postgres. If you work with developers or data scientists or anyone wrangling data, you’ll probably see a sticker with the tusks and trunk of the Postgres elephant on the lid of a nearby laptop. EDB has a lot to do with that.

Job SummaryÂ
The Customer Success Architect (CSA) will report to the Director of Global Customer Success Architect.Â
This is an essential role that assists customer's full value from their investment in a product or technology. As a CSA you are a trusted technical advisor by customer architects, DBAs, business and technology sponsors. You help customer's identify and resolve potential problems before they become a serious issue through best practice guidance. You will get to drive conversations related to lifecycle management (i.e. patching, upgrades), integrating Postgres with a customer’s technology stack (e.g. identity, monitoring, cryptography/security, CICD/DevOps, etc.) to ensure that the customer remains engaged and healthy from a technology lens.
Candidates please note: This role is 100% remote. We prefer candidates located on the East Coast or Mid-West.Â
What your impact will be:Â
- Establish a close working relationship with the customer's technical leadership team.
- Help EDB customer's maximize the efficiency and benefit from their Postgres investment.
- Provide technical leadership for customer's major Postgres initiatives (This may include solutions consulting, architecture leadership and project management).
- Be a voice of the customer within EDB and escalate their issues to Support, Product Engineering, and CX leadership teams. Coordinate the efforts between all teams.Â
- Provide best practice guidance to the customer and advise on upgrades and integration.
- Collaborate with assigned CSM, AE, and SE for account growth opportunities.
- Create monthly/biweekly TAM reports for the accounts.
- Travel to customer sites and participate in Quarterly Technical Reviews as required by the contract.
What you will bring:Â
- BSc in Computer science (or, Computer/Electrical engineering) or, equivalent, and at least 5+ years of direct experience in the following areas:
Technical skills
- Relational database experience (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, DB2).Â
- Knowledge and experience with database high availability, disaster recovery, query tuning, troubleshooting, debugging techniques, and installation.
- Experience using public clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud native technologies.
- Working knowledge of major Linux distributions.
- IT experience, preferably in a managed services or technology consulting environment.
Soft skills
- Excellent communication skills to all levels of the organization. Must be organized with good presentation and meeting management skills. Ability to problem solve issues as needed.
- Demonstrate project management experience, guiding customers to assess business and technical impact of technical design decisions.Â
- Ability to articulate complex technical concepts for the business and technical stakeholders.
- Capable of working independently towards objectives while collaborating with internal account teams and customers.
