Position Overview:
The Google Analytics Data Analyst will be responsible for leveraging Google Analytics to analyse web data, generate actionable insights, and support strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, expertise in Google Analytics, and a passion for turning data into meaningful business recommendations..
Key Responsibilities
- Data Analysis: Utilize Google Analytics to monitor and analyze website performance metrics, user behavior, and conversion rates. Provide insights and recommendations based on data findings.
- Reporting: Create and maintain regular reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Data Interpretation: Interpret complex data sets and translate them into actionable insights for marketing, product, and business strategy teams.
- Campaign Performance: Evaluate the effectiveness of digital marketing campaigns and strategies, and suggest improvements based on data analysis.
- Tag Management: Implement and manage Google Analytics tracking codes and events to ensure accurate data collection.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, product, and IT to understand their data needs and provide data-driven solutions.
- Optimization: Identify opportunities for website optimization and user experience improvements through data analysis and A/B testing.
- Trend Analysis: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging tools to continuously enhance data analysis processes.
Tools and Technologies Required:
- Google Analytics:
- Google Analytics 4 (GA4): Advanced proficiency in GA4 for comprehensive website and app tracking, data analysis, and reporting. Familiarity with GA4’s event-based data model and analysis features.
- Google Analytics Universal Analytics (UA): Experience with UA for managing legacy analytics properties.
- Google Tag Manager:
- Tag Management: Experience in configuring and managing Google Tag Manager (GTM) to deploy and update tracking codes, set up event tracking, and integrate with other tools.
- Any Data Visualization Tools:
- Tableau: Proficiency in Tableau for creating interactive and shareable dashboards and visualizing complex data sets.
- Power BI: Experience with Microsoft Power BI for building custom reports and dashboards with interactive visualizations.
- Google Data Studio: Ability to use Google Data Studio for creating dynamic and customizable reports and dashboards.
- Spreadsheet Software:
- Microsoft Excel: Advanced skills in Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis functions.
- Google Sheets: Proficiency in Google Sheets for collaborative data manipulation and analysis.
- SQL:
- SQL (Structured Query Language): Working knowledge of SQL for querying databases, extracting and manipulating data to support analysis and reporting.
- A/B Testing Tools:
- Optimizely: Experience with Optimizely for conducting A/B tests and multivariate testing to optimize website performance.
- Google Optimize: Familiarity with Google Optimize for running experiments and personalizing website content.
- HTML/CSS/JavaScript:
- HTML/CSS: Basic understanding of HTML and CSS for troubleshooting and implementing advanced tracking and tagging.
- JavaScript: Knowledge of JavaScript for custom event tracking and interaction with Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager.
- CRM Tools:
- Salesforce: Experience with Salesforce CRM for integrating marketing data and enhancing customer insights.
- HubSpot: Familiarity with HubSpot for marketing automation and data analysis.
- Other Tools:
- Google BigQuery: Experience with Google BigQuery for handling large datasets and running complex queries.
- Jira/Trello: Familiarity with project management tools like Jira or Trello for tracking tasks and collaborating with teams.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Data Analytics, Statistics, Business, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of experience working with Google Analytics and data analysis in a professional setting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets. Familiarity with SQL and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present data findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data analysis and reporting.
- Problem-Solving: Strong ability to think critically and approach problems from a data-driven perspective.
