We are seeking a Data Analyst II to join our Global Market Intelligence Center of Excellence (GMI - COE) team reporting to Abbott Medical Device Corporate Finance. In this role, the Data Analyst will help to create and manage reports and analytic solutions that turn financial and market data into knowledge for the business to support modeling. This Analyst works closely with Marketing, Finance and Sales teams across all the Abbott Medical Device divisions. This new team member will have an analytical and problem-solving aptitude and be an excellent communicator capable of working directly with end-users to understand their needs.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Develop timelines and monitor schedules in project management system, update project statuses and effectively communicate to team
- Leads data collection process by supervising vendors and ensuring that their services meet the company's product development and market research needs.
- Develops internal reporting
- Provides technical leadership to business units.
- Works with internal customers to define scope and objectives of projects.
- Design, build and deploy solutions and reports using Power BI
- Process the data required to maintain and support the data platforms and the analysis of the market trends/market share for Abbott's med devices business units
- Create visualizations, charts, and reports for requested projects in a timely and accurate manner
- Conduct validation/testing and troubleshoot data issues in existing reports
- Develops ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) processes
- Evaluate and improve existing reports and other automation
- Work with OUS regions to improve transparency on projects and keep global team apprised of local development efforts that may be leveraged in other global regions
- Acquire a working knowledge of existing technical processes and apply this knowledge to assigned tasks and projects
- Responsible for understanding communicated design requirements and turning that into usable, dynamic reports
- Liaison between appropriate team functions, including Marketing Communications, Marketing, Events and Digital, to ensure that projects are kept on schedule and that project statuses are updated and communicated to project team members on a regular basis.
- Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING
Required
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5 years professional experience in marketing communications, project management or another similar field
- Medical Device Industry or another regulated industry experience
- Excellent use of MS Office including PowerPoint and Excel software
- Experience working with PC
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment
- Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects
- Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization
- Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Advertising, Marketing, Public Relations English or equivalent
- Skills in financial/business forecasting, financial analysis, and/or data analytics
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Power Query, Power Pivot, and Pivot Tables
- Development experience with Microsoft's Power BI platform and basic data modeling and SQL Server maintenance experience a plus.
- Basic knowledge of Python and or R languages a plus
