Data Architect (EDW)

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Data Architect (EDW) in Canada.

This is a senior-level architecture role focused on designing and delivering enterprise-scale data warehouse and business intelligence solutions that power critical business decisions. You will lead end-to-end ownership of data platforms spanning cloud and on-prem environments, ensuring scalability, performance, and long-term business value. The role combines strategic architecture leadership with hands-on delivery across data modeling, engineering, and analytics enablement. You will collaborate closely with senior stakeholders and technical teams to translate business needs into robust, production-ready data solutions. Acting as a key technical authority, you will shape data strategy, governance, and modernization initiatives across complex ecosystems. This position is ideal for an experienced data leader who thrives in high-impact environments and enjoys building scalable analytics foundations from the ground up.

• Architect and design end-to-end enterprise data warehouse (EDW) and BI solutions across hybrid cloud and on-prem environments.
• Own full lifecycle delivery including requirements gathering, design, development, deployment, adoption, and ongoing optimization.
• Design scalable dimensional data models such as star schemas, fact/dimension structures, and conformed dimensions.
• Build and oversee robust ETL/ELT pipelines, ensuring reliable data ingestion, transformation, and integration from multiple sources.
• Ensure high performance, scalability, security, and reliability across enterprise analytics platforms.
• Establish and enforce data governance, data quality, and architectural best practices across teams and systems.
• Lead stakeholder engagement sessions, providing technical direction and mentoring data engineering and BI teams.

Requirements:

• 15+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise data platform roles.
• Proven track record of delivering enterprise EDW and BI solutions end-to-end in complex environments.
• Strong expertise in dimensional modeling, including star schema design and fact/dimension modeling principles.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and Microsoft SQL Server in large-scale data environments.
• Experience building and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines using modern data integration tools.
• Strong knowledge of cloud data platforms, including AWS services such as Glue and Redshift (or equivalent Azure experience).
• Experience working with high-volume, multi-source data ecosystems (APIs, SaaS, relational, flat files, JSON/XML).
• Familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI for enterprise analytics delivery.
• Proven leadership experience mentoring teams and influencing senior stakeholders in technical decision-making.
• Preferred: experience with SSIS, Informatica, DataStage, Salesforce integration, FinTech environments, or application development in Java, .NET, or Python.
