We are seeking a creative design agency or consultant to transform complex public health and immunization resources into engaging, accessible, and publication-ready materials.
This consultancy will support the development of a comprehensive suite of HPV technical guidelines designed for global health professionals, programme implementers, and decision-makers.
The role combines publication design, editorial refinement, visual storytelling, and information design to improve the usability of technical content.
The successful partner will create consistent, high-quality materials that communicate complex health concepts clearly across digital and print formats.
Working closely with programme and technical teams, the consultant will help establish a scalable design system for future resources.
This opportunity is ideal for experts passionate about using design and communication to advance health education and global impact.

Accountabilities:

The selected agency or consultant will lead the end-to-end design and production process for a suite of HPV technical guidelines, ensuring all materials are visually engaging, consistent, accessible, and ready for publication. Responsibilities include:

  • Design and format nine HPV technical guidelines into professional print and digital publications with clear visual hierarchy, navigation systems, and structured layouts.
  • Develop a unified design system including typography, templates, color usage, iconography, illustrations, and formatting standards across all documents.
  • Provide editorial support through copy refinement, improving clarity, consistency, readability, and accessibility for both technical and programme audiences.
  • Translate complex public health concepts into effective visual assets, including infographics, diagrams, frameworks, process flows, and visual storytelling elements.
  • Design a comprehensive summary guideline that highlights key insights, frameworks, and action points through accessible and engaging communication.
  • Collaborate closely with programme and technical stakeholders through review cycles, incorporating feedback and ensuring alignment between content objectives and visual execution.
  • Deliver editable source files, publication-ready PDFs, digital-optimized versions, and supporting design documentation for future use.
  • Requirements:

The ideal agency or consultant will bring strong expertise in publication design, editorial communication, and visual transformation of technical content. Required qualifications and experience include:

    • 7–10+ years of experience in publication design, creative communications, editorial design, or related fields.
    • Proven experience delivering complex multi-document design projects, technical reports, or large-scale publication suites.
    • Strong ability to transform technical and scientific information into accessible visual communication.
    • Experience creating infographics, data visualizations, diagrams, and structured information systems.
    • Demonstrated proficiency with design tools such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Figma, or equivalent platforms.
    • Strong copyediting and content refinement capabilities, including improving readability, terminology consistency, and audience accessibility.
    • Experience working with health, development, humanitarian, donor-funded, or public sector publications is highly preferred.
    • Ability to manage multiple parallel workflows while maintaining quality and meeting tight deadlines.
    • Understanding of accessibility standards for digital and print materials.
    • Experience designing resources for global audiences, low-resource settings, or Global South contexts is an advantage.
    • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Benefits:

      • Opportunity to contribute to global health initiatives focused on improving access to reliable immunization information.
      • Engagement in a meaningful consultancy project with international visibility and impact.
      • Opportunity to showcase expertise in technical publication design and health communication.
      • Flexible remote collaboration with programme and technical teams.
      • Possibility to influence how critical health guidance is communicated to global audiences.
      • Competitive fixed-cost consultancy opportunity based on proposal and scope of work.
      • Creative freedom to develop innovative visual approaches while working within established brand standards.
