Data Claims Analyst

Summary

The Claims Data Analyst is responsible for and monitoring of claims trends to enable both actionable and more timely insight leading to increased customer service and retention. Partner with claims leadership to monitor trends, share actionable insight, and support claims best practices.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret results, pinpoint trends, correlations and patterns in complicated data sets utilizing statistical toolsets (Minitab, Excel or similar software)
• Explore and simplify data formats in Business Objects, Resonant, and other systems. Develop automated and reusable routines for extracting requested information
• Responsible for developing a process for prioritizing data need requests, and to support and communicate plans and status to customers and senior leadership
• Support the leaders as productivity, process efficiency and effectiveness standards are developed and measure volumes/results relative to those standards
• Review and refine the data governance strategy, including but not limited to data flow documentation, data dictionaries, governance methodology, and identifying “one source of truth” for all data sources within business unit
• Develops and presents to all levels of leaders on data analysis and trends in claims
• Supports and mentors peers in database management, reporting functions, and statistical analysis
• Identifies and recommends improvements in the departments data storage and reporting capabilities

Requirements:

• College degree or equivalent work experience in related professional field, product, or analytical position
• Prefer a working knowledge of analytics software, including MS Excel, Cognos Advanced, Qlik, and R programming language
