The Role:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Engineer specializing in WWPS Data/ML (Worldwide Public Sector Data/Machine Learning) to join our team. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing an Enterprise Data Platform, designing data lakes, and developing data analytics solutions specifically tailored for the Worldwide Public Sector. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in ensuring data security architecture to protect sensitive information.
This is initially a 6-month position, but there is a potential for extension beyond that period.
The Data Engineer at STS will:
- Design and implement an Enterprise Data Platform, leveraging AWS services and tools, to enable efficient and scalable data storage, processing, and analysis
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into data engineering solutions
- Develop and maintain data pipelines, data integration processes, and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) workflows to ingest, transform, and load data from various sources into the data platform
- Design and implement data lake architectures to store structured and unstructured data, ensuring data accessibility and availability for analytics purposes
- Develop and optimize data models and schemas to support data analytics and reporting requirements
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand their data needs and provide them with reliable and performant datasets
- Implement data security measures and architecture to ensure the protection of sensitive data and compliance with relevant regulations
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and processes to ensure data quality, integrity, and reliability
- Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in data engineering, AWS services, and data analytics technologies
Education and Experience:
Required
- US Citizenship
- Active IRS Public Trust
- Prior experience in designing and implementing an Enterprise Data Platform using AWS services and tools, with a focus on the Worldwide Public Sector
- Strong knowledge and experience in data engineering principles, practices, and technologies
- Proficiency in programming languages, such as Python, Scala, or Java
- Experience with data modeling, data integration, and ETL processes
- Familiarity with data lake architectures and tools, such as AWS S3 and Glue
- Understanding of data security principles and experience in implementing data security measures
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams

- AWS Certified Data Analytics - Specialty
