ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR TEAM:  

As a member of the Tracking Architecture team, you will work with both business and technology stakeholders to implement the website/mobile application tracking strategy. Supporting the technical design, construction, delivery, and maintenance of TKWW’s event-based reporting tools. The perfect candidate takes a methodical approach to addressing tracking needs for the organization and is focused on balancing business needs with technical impact. The ideal candidate should be comfortable learning about the various analytics systems that are currently used by The Knot, WeddingWire, Bodas.net and other brands. The candidate should have used a few of these in large scale web and mobile (iOS, Android) applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support ownership of event tracking: design and definition of data, implementation and coordination for the front end team, verifying the data, QA-ing the validity of the data
• Work closely with Data Analytics, Data Science, and Product teams to identify and gather requirements for tracking on TKWW websites and mobile applications
• Work closely with developers and digital product owners to implement the event architecture and conduct necessary quality assurance checks
• Educate internal teams on existing/new features and capabilities in Google Analytics and other analytics software to support fulfillment; train employees and offer platform expertise; define roadmap for long-term Customer Analytics needs
• Assist 3rd party analytics code running in the browser or in a mobile application
• Working with the marketing team on setting them up with the correct flow 
• Controlling for the impact of tags that are added through GTM.
• Support a data-driven culture and strong collaboration with cross functional teams

SUCCESSFUL DATA ENGINEER CANDIDATES HAVE:

• Web analytics tools (WebTrends, Google Analytics, CoreMetrics); experience with Google Analytics 360, GA4 would be a plus
• Google Tag Manager (Adobe, Tealium, or similar). Experience implementing, provisioning, and troubleshooting tag sequences.
• Basic SQL querying skills and some database design knowledge
• Excellent problem solving skills and have a knack for numbers and for recognizing trends and patterns in large amounts of data
• Strong written communication skills. Experience maintaining internal or open source documentation is a plus
• Experience conducting gap analysis to identify any opportunities for new tracking (Tag Manager audit)
• Mobile app tracking, experience with Firebase
• Fluency with debugger tools
• Ability to read/write basic HTML/HTML5 /CSS/JavaScript, other front-end languages (Python, NodeJS, PHP, etc.), and ability to query large databases (SQL)
• Experience in tag architecture analysis and using tagging platform(s) to execute proper data flow
• Ability to explain architecture proposals to non-technical audiences and communicate business value of suggested ideas & plans
