This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Staff Data Engineer - REMOTE. As the first dedicated Data Engineer on a hybrid team, you will play a crucial role in defining data operations within our platform. This position focuses on owning data pipelines that facilitate clinical analytics and operational reporting. You will closely collaborate with Analytics Engineers and Platform Engineers to build systems that enhance the quality of healthcare services. Your expertise will directly impact our growth as a mission-driven organization, striving to provide high-quality medical support for children with special healthcare needs.

Accountabilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable ELT pipelines for data ingestion from various sources.
  • Architect data pipelines in AWS, ensuring they are event-driven and reliable.
  • Write and maintain infrastructure-as-code for data ingestion workflows.
  • Use Dagster for orchestrating pipeline execution and monitoring.
  • Implement data quality checks and alerting mechanisms across pipelines.
  • Identify and resolve systemic failure modes in data processes.
  • Collaborate with Analytics Engineers to align data support for downstream models.
  • Set technical direction for data architecture and mentor junior engineers.
  • Requirements

  • 7–10+ years of data engineering experience, with 2+ years in a senior role.
  • Proficient in designing data pipelines with Python and SQL.
  • Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, SQS, and S3.
  • Familiarity with building event-driven and API-based ingestion systems.
  • Proficient in data orchestration tools like Dagster.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) principles.
  • Experience with data warehouses, preferably Snowflake.
  • Proficient in at least one scripting language beyond SQL and Python.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering practices including version control.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex data and infrastructure issues.
