About the Role

Rocket Lawyer is seeking an experienced, passionate Data Engineer Intern who wants to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a talented agile team. As part of a 5-person team of data engineers, you will play a key role in providing product owners and executives the data they need to make intelligent decisions.

Reports to: Director of Cloud Platforms

Location: Remote, but you must be located in CA, AZ, CO, NC, or UT during the internship.

Duration: Starting June 2024 for 10 weeks, 40 hours a week

A Day in the Life

• Analyze, extract, transform and load data from multiple internal and external sources into a Snowflake warehouse to support a business intelligence team.
• Use API calls and SQL to extract data. Use SQL to transform and load data.
• Use Airflow running in Google Cloud to orchestrate data flows.
• Participate in daily team huddles.
• Collaborate with report developers to create useful target tables and views.
• Collaborate with product owners, release managers and QA staff to validate and promote code to production.
• Update a JIRA Kanban board some weeks and sprint board other weeks.

Required Experience

• Currently a Senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• SQL language
• Python

• Linux
