Job Summary:
The Raytheon Missiles and Defense Digital Analytics and Applications (DAA) organization is looking for a technical lead for our Data Services teams. The technical lead works closely with the solution architects to understand the available architecture building blocks, product-team's domain and collaborate on MVP solutions to quickly solve business problems. The primary responsibilities of the technical lead will be to ensure that the technical direction of the team follows the recommended data architecture guidelines and adheres to the department standards and best practices. The technical lead provides feedback regarding challenges and risks, helps address technical issues, provides technical mentorship to peers, and ensures quality and acceptable performance is delivered in the final solution.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
- As a Data Engineer, design and implement data architecture, data pipelines, reporting, dashboarding, data exploration, processes, and quality controls to enable self-service Business Intelligence.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to developers within their team, helping grow their leadership and technical acumen
- Partner with the various data teams to advocate, leverage, implement, and mature data architecture building blocks within team solutions
- Establish and promote standards, patterns, and principles for the data team
- Technical Lead role will involve development tasks and technical guidance
- Ensures process for code peer reviews are conducted appropriately and assist on the more complex solutions reviews
- Collaborate with peer Tech Leads across DAA teams to share experiences, identify gaps and facilitate Community of Practices
- Support Scrum Masters during planning events and agile ceremonies to foster technical discussion with their development team and product-owner, facilitate story breakdown and acceptance criteria.
- Support the Product-Owner to understand and develop solution/portfolio vision for the product domain, developing a deep understanding of the problem space and developing MVP solutions.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires Bachelor's degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required.
- 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering role
- 5+ years of experience leading or mentoring technical teams
- 5+ years' experience in writing SQL
- 5+ years' experience with schema design and dimensional data modeling
- 5+ years' experience with ETL tools such as Matillion, Informatica PowerCenter
- Experience building and optimizing data pipelines, architectures, and data sets
- Experienced developing in cloud platforms such as AWS GovCloud, Azure for Government
Qualifications We Value:
- Experience with Snowflake and Databricks
- Self-service tools such as Alteryx Designer, Tableau, PowerBI, BusinessObjects
- Python, Java, API development experience
- Experience with real-time data streaming tools like Kafka, Apache Storm, or any similar tools
- Experience with DevSecOps process and associated tools
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, strong business acumen, critical thinking, and ability to work cross functionally through collaboration with engineering and business partners
- The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance or to view sensitive US government information.
