Data Reporting Analyst - Remote

Job Information

The Data Reporting Analyst will be instrumental in working with account managers and clients to understand and document clients reporting needs. The Analyst will also consult internally and with clients on the structure and organization of their reporting needs and distribution within their company. This role requires a deep understanding of data structures and the ability to perform Adhoc analysis using industry standard tools. A strong working knowledge of databases and SQL is required, as well as solid experience with MS Excel and MS Word.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Extract, analyze, and manipulate data from a relational database
• Write and read SQL on intermediate and complex queries
• Develop a deep understanding of the Matrix data warehouse for claims management data including payroll, federal, and state financial reporting
• Consult with clients on the development of reporting requirements
• Support the client reporting team on troubleshooting
• Perform quality assurance of new reports
• Create specifications for reporting
• Perform thorough report testing
• Liaise with the development team on requirement clarification and report testing

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Related Experience

• Bachelor's degree
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a data analytical role, financial or claims environment preferred.
• Strong working knowledge and hands on experience with extracting and manipulating data from a relational database
• Confident with writing and reading SQL on intermediate to complex queries
• Experience working with a graphical SQL tool (toad preferred)
• Exceptional Excel data manipulation skills
• Strong oral, written skills in order to work effectively with internal and external customers.
• The ability to multi-task and exhibit effective time management and organization skills
• Strong problem solving skills
• Must be able to work in a high pressure support environment and work with a sense of urgency.
