Job Summary

Based in Germany as a Data Scientist at EDB you will play a crucial role in analyzing complex data sets to uncover actionable insights support data-driven decision-making and contribute to the development of innovative data solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams (Sales Engineer Sales Product ...) to understand business requirements and apply statistical and machine learning techniques to solve real-world problems.

What you will bring:

• Data Science Proficiency : Demonstrable experience in data manipulation and analysis using Python and Scala. Proficiency with libraries such as Pandas NumPy TensorFlow or Scikit-learn is essential. Experience with Jupyter Notebooks and equivalent tools such as Apache Zeppelin or Google Colab for interactive data exploration and visualization is highly valued.

• Generative AI and Large Language Models : Exposure to or a keen interest in generative AI especially with large language models such as GPT or BERT. Understanding of model training fine-tuning and deployment processes in a production environment.

• Vector Databases : Knowledge of or experience with vector databases including understanding their use in handling high-dimensional data spaces for similarity search and AI-driven applications. Experience with pgvector extension of Postgres will be a plus

• Statistical Analysis and Experimentation: Ability to apply statistical tests and experiments in a business context to validate models or hypotheses. Understanding of A/B testing regression analysis and other statistical techniques to derive insights from large datasets.

• Database Skills : Experience with database management systems such as PostgreSQL MySQL Oracle or SQL Server. Strong SQL skills for effective data querying and management.

• Analytical Tools : Familiarity with analytics platforms (e.g. Databricks Snowflake Teradata Cloudera Vertica Greenplum) and their application in data science projects.

• Cloud Computing : Practical experience with cloud platforms like AWS Azure or Google Cloud with a focus on deploying data science and machine learning workloads.
