The Manager, Database Development & Engineering will provide thought leadership to a Database Developers' functional team to adopt and scale Aya's data and data development best practices; additionally, they will help lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure data-centric cloud applications. This person will collaborate with the Architecture and DevOps team to create standardized delivery of data management solutions that are aligned with enterprise strategy and architecture.

Responsibilities:
- Work closely with project teams, bringing together database Developers and Software Engineers.
- Coordinate and manage the work effort of assigned staff using experience and management reporting tools to align work activities with organizational priorities and objectives.
- Coordinate the technical evaluation of proposals, projects, and changes to the existing data environment to assure stability and alignment with the overall systems architecture.
- Support Aya's organizational change efforts using data tools and solutions to improve systems and organization efficiency and change management
- Effectively plans, schedules, and assigns work to all database team members, consistently monitoring the overall function of the team.
- Provides technical leadership to the database team for maintaining data architecture and framework for all applications
- Document, monitor, and proactively recommend improvements to processes and controls related to Aya's databases and related systems.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of leadership experience in an IT environment.
- Hands-on experience in developing and implementing data solutions and complex data models for operational and data warehouse applications
- BS degree in Computer Science or other related technical field and/or minimum equivalent experience of ten or more years working in an IT environment, with some experience in managing database professionals.
- Experience in developing conceptual, logical, and preliminary physical models for an enterprise (i.e., Enterprise Data Architecture) and solutions (i.e., Solution Data Architecture)
- Excellent organizational, verbal, and writing skills and the ability to perform well under pressure.
- Proven MS SQL Experience & Relational database experience
- Strong understanding of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Understanding of big data architecture, Azure, Power BI, Data Lake, and modern ETL technologies
- Agile Project Management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, or equivalent

Compensation: Aya reasonably anticipates the pay scale for this position to be an annual salary of $200,000 to $215,000.
The pay scale for this position may vary if applicant possesses experience outside of what Aya reasonably anticipates for this position. Bonuses are subject to the role and your manager’s discretion.
