Decision Scientist, Client Analytics Intern

Ibotta is seeking a Decision Scientist, Client Analytics Intern to join our innovative team and contribute to our mission to Make Every Purchase Rewarding. As a participant in our 2024 Summer Internship, you will have the opportunity to fully integrate with your team to directly contribute to ongoing Ibotta business initiatives. In addition to the daily time with your team, you will participate in ongoing teach outs curated to help build skills essential to transitioning into the workforce and building your career. We are looking for candidates who are eager to learn, excited to work on real-world business challenges, and want to be part of a mission-driven company.

This will be a full-time, 12 week, internship during the summer of 2024. This position is located in Denver, Colorado. Candidates must live in the United States.

What you will be doing:

• Working cross-functionally with the Business development team to analyze our IPN partners performance, in order to uncover key actionable insights to improve Ibotta's IPN performance

• Running statistical analysis and create models based on user characteristics and behavior

• Support projects to build causal inference models (A/B testing), automation of existing reports and deliverables, root cause analysis of upstream data issues, and documentation

• Conduct high quality ad-hoc analyses, consulting with internal teams to build compelling sell stories

• Communicate complex analyses and data intricacies in a clear, concise manner

• Collaborate with business stakeholders and cross functional teams to provide insightful reporting and dashboards

What we are looking for: 

• Juniors working towards a Bachelor’s Degree with a focus in Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, or Engineering or related field

• Proven ability to think creatively and implement ideas from start to finish

• Good written and verbal communication skills

• Hunger to learn and collaborate with your teammates

• Strong SQL knowledge, data wrangling, and analytical skills

• Ability to think creatively and provide thoughtful insights

• Ability to work collaboratively throughout an organization to drive towards common goals

• Interest in understanding of the key concepts of consumer and B2B client needs and behavior

Preferred:

• Experience using other modern data analysis tools (such as Python, R or Spark)

• Knowledge of A/B testing concepts and statistics

• Interest in analytics in a consumer-facing or B2B industry

Additional Details:

• This position is located in Denver, CO and includes competitive pay and housing assistance for out of state students.

• The hourly compensation for this role is: $23.00 per hour worked. This compensation range is specific to the United States labor market.
