Developer(Contract)

Discovery Responsibilities(Mandatory):

• Lead Discovery processes end-to-end, ensuring comprehensive visibility and accuracy across all environments.
• Configure and deploy ServiceNow Discovery to create a robust, up-to-date CMDB for the organization.
• Customize and develop Discovery patterns for complex applications, networked assets, and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Build and optimize probes and sensors to accurately identify and collect data on all connected assets.
• Troubleshoot Discovery failures, addressing connectivity issues, IP conflicts, and network/firewall obstacles.
• Perform regular audits on Discovery data to ensure CMDB accuracy, completeness, and alignment with organizational data standards.
• Oversee and manage Discovery and platform upgrades, testing and validating custom patterns and sensors for a seamless transition.
• Schedule Discovery scans strategically to balance system load and maintain optimal Discovery performance.
• Integrate Discovery with ITSM processes for Incident, Change, and Problem Management to enhance overall IT visibility.
• Collaborate with network and server teams to resolve access issues, missing credentials, or incompatible network configurations.
• Document all configurations, customizations, and troubleshooting steps for knowledge sharing and training purposes.
• Implement and manage MID server configurations for distributed Discovery, ensuring smooth connectivity across all network segments.
• Work with CMDB administrators to define CI classes and relationships that align with discovery data, supporting accurate asset mapping.
• Analyze and optimize Discovery results to identify and close visibility gaps, ensuring all critical assets are discovered and tracked.

Service Mapping Responsibilities(Optional):

• Service Mapping implementation to ensure complete, accurate service dependency mappings across applications and infrastructure.
• Customize and develop Service Mapping patterns to reflect organizational services and business processes accurately.
• Define and configure CI relationships to support accurate service impact analysis and streamline incident and change management processes.
• Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot Service Mapping issues and ensure accurate, real-time service visibility.

Event Management Responsibilities(Good to have):

• Implement and configure Event Management to monitor infrastructure alerts, correlate events, and reduce noise for effective incident management.
• Integrate Event Management with third-party monitoring tools (such as Splunk, SolarWinds, or Dynatrace) for real-time visibility and faster response.
• Develop alert correlation rules to reduce alert fatigue and streamline incident response processes.
• Automate incident creation and prioritization based on event severity and correlation to ensure rapid, effective resolution.
