DevOps Engineer

As a DevOps Engineer, you’ll be one of the founding members of the UD DevOps team, and will help take our deployment processes and infrastructure to the next level!

• Own UD’s deployment processes across all applications (AppEngine, K8s using Tanka) and develop a deep understanding of our product infrastructure
• Contribute to our goal of getting our infrastructure represented as code
• Openly communicate issues, ask clarifying questions, and raise concerns when needed to ensure proper knowledge of tooling and discover pain points

• Passion for building tools and processes to improve not just the scalability of applications, but the scalability of engineering teams
• Interest and experience in leveraging cutting edge technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, and an excitement for new infrastructure features
• Basic technical foundation to be able to review code and comfortably automate tasks with scripts (bash, python, ruby, etc)
• Curiosity for and keen interest in DevOps and release engineering trends, including CI/CD
• Experience creating and maintaining cloud infrastructure like GCP, AWS, or Azure
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (terraform, cloud formation)
• Desire to learn new technologies and share knowledge with others
• Ability to work both asynchronously and collaboratively, with excellent communication, analytical, and problem solving skills

• Experience with logging/monitoring tools (datadog, splunk, nagios, elk)
