Job Description

The SchoolMint Engineering team is looking for a talented devops engineer with a strong background in cloud based application development and deployment. The devops engineer will, under the direction of the lead engineers, assist in the management of projects for all aspects of our many platforms. This includes improving CI/CD processes, maintaining existing cloud based infrastructure, and building tools to make engineers' lives easier. We utilize both AWS and Google Cloud Platform for hosting and running our applications. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who want to work with modern tech while helping improve K-12 educational opportunities for students across the US. 

DevOps Engineer EdTech/K-12/SaaS - San Pedro, Montes de Oca, San Jose Costa Rica (Remote)

Work Arrangement: This is a remote-based position. However, the candidate must be based in Costa Rica.

Base Salary: up to 44,541,152.50 Colon/65,000 USD annually 

Annual Bonus". Up to 5% base salary 

What You Will Do:

• Help maintain our existing cloud based infrastructure
• Build new tools to streamline processes
• Manage IAM policies and access control in AWS and GCP
• Enable team to deliver continuously by extending and creating CI/CD pipelines
• Troubleshoot performance issues and broken deployments
• Proactively eliminate repetitive tasks through automation
• Manage DNS for multiple applications

 About You:

• 1 to 2 years of experience with AWS and/or GCP
• Familiarity with Python
• In depth understanding of SSH
• Comfortable working with command line tools in a unix environment
• Experience writing and maintaining AWS Lambdas and/or GCP Cloud Functions
• Knowledge of cloud based networking using VPCs and security groups
• Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal
• Comfortable in a team-based, entrepreneurial, and hard-working culture
• Familiarity with REST API concepts
