Job Description

Assure, a private equity transaction platform, analytics, and data company, is seeking to hire a DevOps Engineer to be part of a team building the first ever private transaction platform. The primary initiative is to build new platform tools for delivering services to private equity and venture capital clients. These tools include automation of business processes, database design, data integration, etc. The DevOps Engineer will be fully responsible for Assure's platform and the flow of code updates through the engineering group, as well as creation and monitoring of highly available cloud infrastructure and platforms to host that code. This position will design and architect complex, reusable, and maintainable new systems, real-time interfaces, and visualizations focusing not only on performance and scalability but also on crafting a beautiful user experience. The DevOps Engineer will collaborate with various technical and non-technical teams to maintain day to day operations and provide guidance on systems and solutions. The ideal candidate for this position has a strong technical background, including a combination of both development engineering and IT skill sets.

The DevOps Engineer position may be a remote position open for candidates residing in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Louisiana, North Carolina, Nevada, Ohio, Texas, Virginia, Washington, or Wisconsin. If you reside in Utah, this position will be in office.

Duties include

• Reduce deployment time for critical agile project infrastructure
• Develop, design, implement, and support applications running within the AWS cloud
• Develop monitoring and management tools and processes
• Implement continuous integration and continuous delivery to decrease manual testing and troubleshooting
• Accurately estimate work requirements and create detailed plans
• Document processes and standard methodologies
• Other tasks and projects as assigned

Our ideal candidate will possess the following traits and knowledge

• Technical degree or 1 - 3 years of experience in the DevOps Engineer role

• Experience with Amazon cloud services such as EC2 ad S3
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS
• Experience with Helm
• Experience with React preferred
• High scalability projects involving cloud-based infrastructure design and implementation
• Successful track record of developing quality software products
• Good understanding of Web Services protocols such as REST, SOAP and API design for extensibility and portability
• Solid understanding of the Software as a Service (SaaS) model in the online environment
• Ability to design, develop and implement unit and scenario testing for existing code base and for new functionality under development
• Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies
• Knowledge including Java/JEE, MongoDB, JSON, XML, REST, NoSQL Database, Distributed System, RDBMS, ePub3, MVC frameworks, Design Patterns, Javascript, Express, Angular, Node, JQuery, GWT, JSON
• Experience as an applications programmer on large-scale data base management systems
• Experience writing SQL queries for SQL Server or another Relational Database
• Knowledge of computer equipment and ability to develop complex software to satisfy design objectives
• Experience in LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP/Python/Perl) and/or server-side Java programming with Web 1.0 MVC frameworks and experience in JEE technologies like Servlets, JSPs, EJBs, Web Services, JMS, JAXB
