Summary

Trimble Viewpoint has an opening for a Software Development Engineer. This is an exciting time to join as we grow and bring new features and technologies to our award winning construction collaboration products.

What You Will Do:

The Software Development Engineer is responsible for improving the quality of software releases through automation processes and DevOps tools enhancements. Working in an agile development environment, the Software Development Engineer will develop and apply customized testing methodologies to show measurable improvements to the released Trimble Viewpoint Software. In addition, this person is responsible for automating CI/CD pipelines based on key product workflows that will accelerate quality during the SDLC and release cycles.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD Azure DevOps pipelines
  • Continuously evaluate and improve defined software processes
  • Automate with development engineers on shift left initiatives
  • Plan, schedule, and implement DevOps projects
  • Define objectives and collaborate with the engineering team and other departments to achieve project goals
  • Perform moderately complex unit, functional, application, regression, and performance automation
  • Define and adhere to development and quality initiatives
  • Provide metrics and results from all testing efforts that will support business decisions related to the quality of the Trimble Viewpoint Software

What Skills & Experience You Should Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field plus a minimum of two years relevant experience in software development or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated test automation and programming skills
  • Strong understanding of SDLC processes
  • Knowledge of cloud and virtualization environments, primarily in Microsoft Azure
  • Strong technical skills with a variety of business software tools


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience with C#, Powershell, Azure DevOps pipelines
  • Experience in a Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery test environment
  • Knowledge of Performance and Security testing techniques
  • Familiar with testing and automating microservices
  • Experience with Azure Cloud technologies and solution tools


Working Conditions:

Work requires the ability to sit and work at a keyboard for extended periods of time and communicate with team members and other departments in person and by phone, computer, and video teleconferencing.

This position requires regular interaction with team members in an agile development environment. The ability to be present at the work site on a core schedule that facilitates team interaction is essential to the successful performance of this job.

This compensation range is based on a full time schedule.
