Job Description
Essential Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Level I
- Engages project development teams and operations groups to collaborate on project plans that include activities in support of the full delivery path.
- Leverages existing tools and technology stacks to build pipelines that enable a flow of changes from developers' desktops to a series of environments in which the software is deployed, qualified, and available to end users.
- Sets up automated deployment using configuration management (both for environment provisioning and app deployment).
- Reuses, extends, and optimizes existing pipelines for broader applicability, greater scalability, and toolset modernization.
- Consistently demonstrates high standards of integrity by supporting the Lifetime Healthcare Companies' mission and values and adhering to the Corporate Code of Conduct and Leading to the Lifetime Way values and beliefs.
- Maintains high regard for member privacy in accordance with the corporate privacy policies and procedures. This includes the application of security tools in automated parts of the DevOps pipeline and the use of security practices in manual steps toward delivery.
- Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required.
- Performs other functions as assigned by management.
Level II - In addition to level I responsibilities:
- Influences project sponsors in support of the need to have qualification, delivery, and maintenance pipelines in place as part of project delivery.
- Specifies the necessary pipelines, toolchains, infrastructure, and orchestration needed on a project-by-project basis.
- Automates and/or orchestrates workloads across multiple IT departments.
- Partners with Information Security to ensure DevOps pipelines are in compliance with both internal and external audit and/or regulatory requirements.
- Mentors and provides guidance to teammates.
- Interfaces with vendor technical representatives to resolve all tool issues and problems.
- Modifies, enhances, and optimizes the toolset to support established processes.
- Helps define and implement DevOps strategies regarding tools and infrastructure.
Level III - In addition to level II responsibilities:
- Acts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and organization-wide consultant for planning DevOps infrastructure.
- Operates at an advisory level as a SME, training and mentoring other team members.
- Communicates DevOps objectives, concepts, and policies internally and externally across all IT domains and to the business.
- Acts as a DevOps leader, resolving barriers and moving decisions forward, enabling projects to meet deadlines and optimize delivery.
- Researches, reviews, and analyzes new tools in the industry; recommends new tools and/or processes.
Minimum Qualifications;

Level I
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or relevant field. In lieu of degree, four years of additional related work experience required.
- A minimum of three years of related work experience required.
- Demonstrated cross-functional planning and reporting skills.
- Demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical, statistical reporting, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Experience with iterative and incremental software development lifecycles.
- Operational knowledge of source control tools, continuous integration/delivery tools, team management/collaboration tools, and reporting tools
- Practical experience scripting in shells (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, etc.) and coding in languages like PERL, Ruby, Python, JavaScript, etc.
- Operational knowledge of networking configuration and security.
Level II - In addition to level I qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or relevant field. In lieu of degree, four years of additional related work experience required.
- A minimum of five years of related work experience required.
- Automation experience in at least one configuration management and deployment tool such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible, or Google Deployment Manager.
- Advanced knowledge of and experience with iterative and incremental software development lifecycles.
- Practical experience configuring and leveraging automated tools for application security (static analysis or penetration testing).
- SQL experience preferred.
- System administration experience with either Windows or Linux - or database administration experience with RBDMS - preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion.
- Experience in performance measurement/metrics reporting and process improvement in an IT organization.
Level III - In addition to level II qualifications:
- A minimum of eight years of related work experience required.
- Demonstrated effective leadership and analytical skills/
- Demonstrated skills in identifying bottlenecks, recommending solutions, and driving solutions through to continuous process improvement.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to travel across regions.
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
