CORE COMPETENCIES:

  • DevOps - DevOps practitioner with experience in implementing DevOps practices and techniques as part of a delivery team
  • Deep expertise in multiple DevOps techniques/practices (e.g. CI, CD, infra-as-code, test automation, deployment automation, value stream mapping, cloud, agile methods, )
  • Working knowledge of the principles and practices of DevOps (fast flow, feedback, continuous experimentation -- not just the tools)
  • Monitoring, telemetry, automation, troubleshooting - Advanced knowledge and practical implementation of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery foundations and practices
  • Virtualization, cloud, and infrastructure as code of AWS and Azure DevOps experience
  • Quality Engineering, Test Driven Development, Test automation frameworks
  • (Ideally) DevOps implementation on SaaS, COTS, Mainframe, and/or mobile - Advanced knowledge of setting up and configuring Git, Jenkins, Ansible, Artifactory
  • Ability to come up to speed quickly on new DevOps toolchain tools
  • Skilled at Systems Thinking

Experience

  • The breadth of experience in a variety of DevOps (and agile) practices
  • Years of experience as a software engineer using advanced CI/CD pipelines
  • Prior experience mentoring teams to adopt DevOps practices as an external coach - Coached teams and management towards improving DevOps and Agile processes and metrics
  • Experience in helping teams set up, configure, operate, and troubleshoot complex CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with Git branching strategies

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide consultation and automation implementation strategies around key DevOps processes and technologies
  • Share best practices in design and implementation of DevOps platform which covers areas such as build automation, deployment automation, test automation, SDLC orchestration, environment management, monitoring, and production release procedures.
  • Help lead DevOps Black-Belt Dojos (implementation workshops, assisting teams in meeting measurable improvement goals, leveraging DevOps principles, patterns, practices, and tools)
  • Coach teams on a variety of DevOps practices and implementation
  • Teach teams how to integrate, configure and troubleshoot toolchains
  • E.g. Demonstrate and teach teams how to embed automated tests into Jenkins orchestrated pipelines to execute automatically upon code check-in
  • Work with teams on process improvement and metrics necessary to show progress
  • Help teams implement value stream mapping and prioritization of countermeasures, based on DevOps/Agile/Lean principles in order to achieve specific measurable results
  • Be a part of a DevOps Enablement team, helping multiple cross-functional delivery teams with the adoption of DevOps cultural and technical practices
  • Help bring new DevOps coaches up to speed

Salary Range Disclaimer

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the DXC salary range for this position. Actual salaries depend on a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training, licensure, and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

The range listed is just one component of DXC's employee compensation package. Other rewards may include a vacation policy and region-specific benefits.

At DXC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at /near the top of the range. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $104,800.00 - $194,600.00 USD.
