Where you'll work:

Our hybrid workplace model offers the freedom to work fully remote or occasionally in one of our offices. This is a remote position with a hybrid option for candidates based in Charlotte, NC.

How you'll contribute:

The Annuity Product Development & Annuity Business Technology Director will lead a team of individuals and provide oversight of the Product Management Team and the Annuity Business Technology Team. This role will aid in the design and development of annuity product solutions and annuity illustrations in support of the company's growth strategy. This role will also provide support for the development of product enhancements and management of the annuity in-force block.

The Annuity Product Development & Annuity Business Technology Director must partner closely with other areas of the Company to ensure successful and timely implementation of product and illustration deliverables. The Annuity Product Development & Annuity Business Technology Director must manage day-to-day product and illustration issues.

In this role, you'll get to:

  • Lead a team of individuals responsible for the completion of the design, build, and launch of new annuity products and illustrations.
  • Provide leadership and expertise on regulatory/compliance rules and ensure product development and illustrations meet all requirements.
  • Collaborate with other team members on recommendations for and/or enhancements to existing products and illustrations based on research and analytics to identify client/advisor needs, marketplace opportunities and competitive gaps
  • Lead large scale projects and drive results through these projects
  • Act as a subject matter expert on cross-organizational projects
  • Collaborate with key partners across the organization to ensure that the annuity products' value proposition is represented within the organization
  • Lead across the organization to improve advisor and client experience related to product and/or illustrations. Resolve complex issues.
  • Keep up to date on competitive environment and use competitive environment as basis for product management and illustration recommendations
  • Partner with Distribution and key partners to develop innovative product offerings, and the illustrations that support them, that grow the annuity business and expands our presence in the market
  • Participate in cross-functional working sessions to drive design and pricing resulting in detailed product specifications
  • Assist in the brainstorming and researching of new product and illustration concepts and enhancements to our existing products and illustrations
  • Build partnerships with key stakeholders, such as Legal, Compliance, Marketing, Operations, and Distribution
  • Establish relationships and credibility across the business to effectively communicate product updates to all levels of the organization
  • Provide effective leadership to direct reports incorporating performance management practices through individual performance reviews and feedback, coaching and development sessions. Be a talent leader by creating an inclusive work environment where employees can thrive.
  • Manage business budgets and invoice processing

We're looking for people who have:

  • Minimum of 10+ years of annuity product development and illustration experience.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Adaptable at working as part of a dynamic team, working independently and with shifting responsibilities.
  • Excellent influencing, organizational, facilitation, written/verbal communication, and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of annuity products and the annuity industry.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to gain consensus and cultivate strategic internal relationships with individuals at various levels throughout the organization.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, financial acumen, and business judgment. Operates effectively in the face of ambiguity.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strength of convictions and ability to influence and champion change
  • Ability to effectively manage several dissimilar projects and prioritize appropriately
