The Director, Compliance Operations will play a vital role in the Compliance Department, leading teams supporting day-to-day operational activities for Know Your Business, Complaints Handling, and Watchlist Management (sanctions, PEP, adverse media).

This candidate must be accustomed to a fast-paced environment and creatively tackle groundbreaking/novel issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead KYB Team of managers and analysts focused on evaluating the risk of new clients at onboarding and ongoing on a risk-based periodic basis
  • Lead Complaints Team of managers and analysts on day to day handling of inbound complaints from various sources and ongoing trend analysis to find opportunities to improve the Compliance Management System (β€œCMS”)
  • Lead Watchlist Management Team of managers and analysts focused on adjudicating sanctions, PEP, and adverse media alerts.
  • Develop ongoing unusual activity monitoring practices
  • Lead optimization of tools/technology inquisitive about enabling brilliant work
  • Coach and mentor team
  • Support ongoing audits and reviews
  • Develop, amend (as needed) and implement policies, procedures, manuals, systems, and training, where appropriate, due to changes in regulation, industry practice, or otherwise
  • Lead other compliance initiatives as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of tangible work experience in AML, Sanctions, and/or Consumer Compliance at a financial service organization
  • Strong influencing skills
  • Ability to think strategically and implement tactically
  • Ability to take direct ownership & lead projects
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization, including executive level
  • Keenly focused on continuous improvement and maturity
  • Organized with a keen eye and attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Proficiency in standard PC programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) Certification
  • Sophisticated level skill in Microsoft Excel

The base salary range for this position is between $ 139,500.00 to $186,000.00, with eligibility for an annual bonus. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, business needs, and market demand. This position can be office-based, hybrid, or fully remote in the continental United States. Onbe’s employee base is mostly clustered in the Eastern and Central time zones, with offices in suburban Philadelphia and suburban Chicago. Some periodic travel will be required.
