Director, Executive & Internal Communications
Job Description
The Basics:
The Director of Executive and Internal Communications will lead a team that is responsible for the global communication channels, programs, and content that keep our employees informed, engaged, and connected to Tanium’s culture and values. Additionally, you will partner closely with the executive leadership team – especially the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Administrative & Operating Officer, and the Chief Marketing Officer – to develop their company-wide communications that help employees internalize critical content like Tanium’s market positioning, business strategy and priorities, and value proposition to customers.
This is a high-visibility and high-impact role that requires a person with impeccable executive presence and a superpower at quickly synthesizing big picture concepts across diverse subject matter into clear and impactful points.
This leader will be part of a broader Marketing team that has resources to support internal communications and resources to support executive external communications. You will report into the Chief Marketing Officer.
What you’ll do:Â
- Be an evangelist for our culture and values, unite our global workforce under a shared vision and strategy, and facilitate meaningful connections between employees, leadership, and the company.
- Own employee engagement communications events, including Quarterly All-Hands and Semi- Monthly Town Hall meetings.
- Lead company-wide communication programs for announcements, employee initiatives, and events and develop content that brings consistent internal brand messaging and drives employee engagement (e.g., intranet site, internal newsletters, employee outreach channels like slack, company handbook and policies).
- Work closely with external communications team on internal plans for news, announcements, and crisis management.
- Act as a core member of the planning team for the annual Company and Sales Kick Off including developing executive communication content and crafting overall theme, agenda, and speaker line-up.
- Partner with multiple c-suite executives to develop and execute communications that disseminate critical company-wide announcements, drive alignment to business strategy and priorities, and help employees internalize the value Tanium’s solutions and products bring to customers.
We’re looking for someone with:
- Education:
- BA or BS in Marketing, PR, Communication, English or equivalent experience
- Experience:
- 8+ years' experience in a corporate communications or similar role (including executive
communications experience and internal communications experience) - Experience in corporate "storytelling" and corporate narratives
- Experience advising, building trust and respect with c-suite executives across multiple
functions - Exceptional writing and communication skills, with an emphasis on simple and conversational style
- Success with keynote presentations and organizational communications
- Global experience, understanding and sensitivity to cultural differences
- Professional, collaborative, self-driven, team player
- Proven success in a dynamic environment, demanding strong sense of urgency,
exceptional project management, and ability to manage multiple priorities with agility o Ability to manage a team and influence across reporting lines - Able to demonstrate innovation, successfully tackling challenges in new and creative
ways - Experience in security, IT operations, and cloud technologies is preferred

What you’ll get
The annual base salary range for this full-time position is  $120,000 to $365,000. This range is an estimate for what Tanium will pay a new hire. The actual annual base salary offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, training, and experience.Â
In addition to an annual base salary, team members will receive equity awards and a generous benefits package consisting of medical, dental and vision plan, family planning benefits, health savings account, flexible spending account, transportation savings account, 401(k) retirement savings plan with company match, life, accident and disability coverage, business travel accident insurance, employee assistance programs, disability insurance, and other well-being benefits.
