Director, FP&A - Research & Development (New York)
Job Description
Reporting to the VP, FP&A this role will act as the main finance partner to our Chief Product and Chief Technical Officer. In addition to managing their forecasts and providing decision support analysis, this role will be a key member of the FP&A team working collaboratively to help drive holistic process and forecast improvements.
What you’ll be doing:Â
- Act as a trusted advisor to R&D leadership including CPO, CTO, CISO, VP Data Science and SVP, Medical Affairs
- Own budgets and forecasts for Product, Engineering, IT & Security, Data Science and Medical Affairs
- Own forecasts for Internal Software Development and other Capex
- Develop ROI analysis for ongoing and incremental R&D investments
- Own budget and forecast for company wide software costs
- Assist with annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and three-year planning process
- Work cross functionally within FP&A to improve and standardize financial reporting
- Partner with business leads to translate strategic initiatives and operational goals into a financial outlook
What we expect from you:
- 7+ yrs experience in total (Investment Banking, Corporate Finance, FP&A)
- Prior FP&A, investment banking, consulting, private equity, or Big 4 Accounting, preferably in healthcare or tech
- FP&A experience in a high-growth, fast paced company.
- Experience serving as an FP&A business partner to Engineering or Product teams is a must
- Calm under pressure, moves quickly, ability to work with unknowns and translate data into conclusions
- Superior excel and presentation building skills (building forecast models)
- B2B Saas background or healthcare services background preferred but not required
- Knowledge of Salesforce, Netsuite, Planful, Pigment a plus
- Ability to work with Python, R, or SQL a plus

- Ability to work independently or as a team member to achieve personal and team goals and complete assignments within established time frames and specifications.
- Experience synthesizing large datasets to consumable executive summaries for stakeholder
The target salary range for this position is $185,000 - $205,000, and is part of a competitive total rewards package including stock options, benefits, and incentive pay for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. We review all employee pay and compensation programs annually at minimum to ensure competitive and fair pay.
