About the position:

Globalization Partners is seeking an influential leader to drive strategy for G-P’s Global Benefits function, creating a world-class benefits experience for our employees and customers. The Director, Global Benefits Strategy is responsible for global benefits for all employees and customers across the globe. This role will evaluate market dynamics to identify areas of opportunity, design new benefits products and enhancements, and monitor the overall effectiveness and monetary impact of all global benefits programs.

This role is a unique opportunity to not only define benefits for a remote first company that is committed to the care and wellbeing of all employees; but also shape our “benefits as a product” strategy, partnering closely with other functions to define a roadmap for benefit product offerings that differentiate G-P as the industry leader.

The ideal candidate is an innovative, customer focused leader with deep expertise in global benefits and experience driving operational efficiencies in a highly matrixed organization.

What you can expect to do:

  •  Lead the global benefits strategy for G-P, overseeing all facets of benefits benchmarking, plan/product design, implementation and administration, broker/ vendor management, renewals, new benefit offerings and perquisites, and benefits compliance.
  • Maintain deep understanding of G-P strategy, customers, industry, and regulatory environment.
  • Manage, build, develop coach and mentor a rock star Global Benefits Team
  • Drive the development of strategic, competitive, global benefits analyses. Identify areas of opportunity to inform a global benefits product roadmap.
  • Collaborate with an important level of influence across functions and serve as the initiative owner for a mission-based team dedicated to the end-to-end benefit product delivery process, encouraging innovative solutions and non-siloed thinking across functional areas
  • Create and lead a Global Benefits Council accountable for the decisions and governance of all Global Benefits matters.
  • Gather and prioritize customer benefit requirements, partnering cross functionally to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.
  • Partner with Marketing to ensure customer communication is consistent, clear, and effectively represents the value of our global benefits product offerings.
  • Facilitate partnerships across functions through a durable team model, guiding the team to rethink how work is done, establishing the Global Benefits function as a COE (Centers of Expertise), and closing gaps across functional work areas to streamline administration.
  • Design a strategy for educating customers facing roles on benefit product offerings and oversee execution of the strategy.
  • Track, measure, and report on key benefit metrics and performance
  • Function as a member of the Total Rewards leadership to present one cohesive compensation, benefits, and reward strategy.
  • Manage the US 401k Committee accountable for the management of the Company 401K plan. Oversee all compliance activities for the 401K plan.
  • Drive the development of consistent processes, optimizing use of technology/HRIS systems, to drive efficiencies and standardization where possible while allowing flexibility locally when required.
  • Develops and administers appropriate reporting and controls processes to ensure accurate benefit program administration and related regulatory reporting/compliance.
  • Keep abreast of the relevant regulatory changes globally and communicate key changes across teams.
  • Ensures appropriate metrics are in place to measure and manage service levels, business risks and improve decision making.

 

 What we are looking for:

  • 10 + years of broad global benefits experience (health, welfare and retirement programs, wellness initiatives and other perquisites) with progressively increasing responsibility and complexity in a fast-paced environment with a preference for experience in benefits brokerage or a product centric role.
  • Experience in leading global benefits initiatives and the ability to scale your thinking and expertise to support a fast paced, hyper growth, customer facing environment.
  • Proven managerial experience with the capability of developing and motivating staff and ensuring goals and expectations are clearly communicated
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with the proven ability to build collaborative partnerships across all levels of the organization, as well as with external partners, and to provide innovative solutions that address business needs and challenges.
  • Outstanding relationship building skills, experience influencing internal decision-making processes because of functional expertise, but also from demonstrating leadership; and the ability to advocate and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to translate vision into executable strategy, an operational mindset, with a track record for designing, driving, managing, and scaling innovative benefits offerings.
  • Ability to grasp a strategic, customer-minded view and handle complex technical issues to improve service levels, reduce costs, and drive scale.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to rapidly understand business objectives, present solutions, and initiate process improvements.
  • Demonstrated experience of successfully executing against tight deadlines and proactive issue resolution.
  • Experience leading projects in a highly matrixed organization, with strong organizational and project management skills, attention to detail and the ability to oversee multiple and/or complex projects simultaneously.
  • Extremely high attention to detail with the ability to work independently, prioritize workload, utilize a wide degree of creativity and latitude to accomplish goals, understand business implications of decisions, and complete projects with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts in simple terms.
  • Experience effecting change in organizations that have undergone significant growth and transformation.
  • Ability to apply change management and thrive in a hyper-growth business.
  • Strategic problem solver with strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
  • A sense of humor.
