Pay Range: $130,000 - $150,000 + Commission
We are currently seeking an engaged, energetic and highly motivated Director of MGA Sales to join our Sales team.
The Director of Sales is responsible for executing Vertafore strategy. This includes identifying market requirements, determining the appropriate product/solution set for the market, collaborating with VP of sales on product design, overseeing marketing efforts. Proactively manage both sales executives and account manager team within the Field & Central CMGA territory to help them retain customers and grow revenue per the terms of their comp plans. In addition, the Director of Sales will be responsible for maintaining their own quota as a "player/coach."
Core Requirements and Responsibilities:
Essential job functions included but are not limited to the following:
  • Develop and execute on Vertafore sales strategy for the field & central accounts with a solid understanding of the marketplace and customer's strategic directions

  • Develop strong relationships with key senior decision makers and influencers within the industry
  • Along with VP of Carrier & MGA Sales, develop plans and strategies for developing business and achieving the company's sales goals
  • Build and lead a top-grade sales team, ensuring the best possible talent at each level, and facilitate development of all sellers on the team
  • Execute the Vertafore Selling Process and sales methodology.
  • Present complex, solution- selling techniques at the executive level, recommending strategies for continued growth as needed
  • Deepen relationships with existing carrier clients to ensure their satisfaction and explore new opportunities
  • Manage a detailed and accurate sales process and forecast
  • Coordinate with Sales training, programs that enables your team to achieve their potential and support company sales objectives
  • Exceed customer expectations and contribute to a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Monitor customer, market and competitor activity and provide feedback to company leadership team and other functional areas
  • Work closely with the marketing function and field VP to establish successful programs
  • Leadership in driving long term strategic planning for market, compensation, territory planning, account planning

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must have excellent demand generation and business development skills
  • Strong analytical ability: define complex problems and creatively frame solutions.
  • This candidate must be assertive, a quick thinker, problem solver and demonstrate strong leadership abilities. Must be highly organized, able to multi-task, prioritize, and have excellent time management skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to influence decisions in a matrix environment, including senior level leaders.
  • Ability to think creatively and to contribute to both strategic and tactical decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large, cross-functional initiatives and projects.

Qualifications:
  • Strong educational background in related subject matter, with MBA or other post-graduate qualification strongly preferred.
  • 7+ years of sales experience
  • 3-5 years of people management experience, with 5+ years preferred
  • Product or market management experience in the business-to-business software or services arena. Experience within a multi-dimensional operating environment is essential (i.e., not a mono-line, single market environment); experience within the financial services arena and/or within the small business arenas would also be helpful
  • Prior experience in the insurance industry strongly preferred.

Additional Requirements and Details: *US only, include travel requirement for all locations if applicable.
  • Travel required up to 30% of the time.
  • Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds.
  • Frequent repetitive hand and arm movements required to operate a computer.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (working on a computer, etc.).
  • Frequent sitting and/or standing

    The Professional Services (PS) and Customer Success (CX) bonus plans are a quarterly monetary bonus plan based upon individual and practice performance against specific business metrics.     Commission plans are tailored to each sales role but common components include quota, MBO's and ABPMs. Salespeople receive their formal compensation plan within 30 days of hire.
