Within Chowbus, the Business Intelligence org combines a deep understanding of the business strategy and performance with analytical and technical capabilities to deliver insights and power data-driven decision-making across the business. This org is expected to identify the right areas to focus on and quickly enhance the quality of decision-making in those areas.

Director of Business Intelligence will be responsible for developing and executing the company's BI strategy, overseeing the design and implementation of BI solutions, and leading a team of skilled professionals. This strategic leadership role requires a deep understanding of BI technologies, strong business acumen, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.

What You'll Focus On

  • 30%-Leadership and Strategy- Develop and execute the overall BI Strategy aligned with business objectives. Provide leadership and direction to the BI team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.  Player/Coach approach is required.
  • 20%-Team Management-Recruit, train, and mentor BI professionals to ensure a high-performance team. Set performance expectations, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide feedback for team development.
  • 15%-Stakeholder Collaboration-Collaborate with executives, department heads, and other stakeholders to understand business goals and information needs. Translate business requirements into BI solutions and that drive informed decision-making.
  • 15%-Data Governance-Establish a data warehouse and enforce data governance policies and procedures. Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Integrate platform, SFDC and Netsuite data to fuel BI analytics.
  • 10%-Technical Oversight-Oversee the development and maintenance of BI infrastructure, tools, and technologies. Stay abreast of industry trends and recommend updates to the BI architecture as needed.
  • 10%-Analytics and Reporting-Provide actionable insights to mitigate risk but more importantly amplify growth and predictability of results.  Lead the design and development of dashboards, reports, and data visualizations. Drive the adoption of self-service analytics tools for end-users.  Once BI foundation is built, this will be the predominate responsibility of the BI team.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Business Intelligence, or related field required; master’s degree is a plus.
  • At least 5 years of experience in business intelligence
  • At least 3 years in a leadership role
  • At least 2 years of experience in SaaS industry
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing BI teams and creating a data warehouse.
  • Strong understanding of data governance and regulatory compliance
  • Startup experience is highly preferred.
  • Experience in BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI or similar platforms.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python/R
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Flexibility and adaptiveness to excel in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.
  • Bilingual in Mandarin is preferred.

  • The salary range for this role is $130,000-$180,000 depending on experience and location.
