Job Description

About Us

One Medical is a primary care platform challenging the industry status quo by making quality care more affordable, accessible and enjoyable. But this isn’t your average doctor’s office. We’re on a mission to radically transform healthcare, which means tackling the frustrations of everyone involved — from patients and providers to employers and health networks.

Across the country, our members enjoy seamless access to comprehensive care at more than 180 locations across 28 cities (and counting!) as well as 24/7 access to virtual care powered by intelligent uses of technology. In addition to a direct-to-consumer membership model, we work with more than 7,000 companies to provide One Medical health benefits to their employees.

On January 31, 2020 we marked a milestone with our public listing on Nasdaq, but our work is far from over. As we continue to grow and broaden our impact, we’re building a diverse, driven and empathetic team, while working hard to cultivate an environment where everyone can thrive.

The Opportunity:

As we continue to expand our services and increase our capacity to transform primary care for all, the teams who support the strategic direction for One Medical are growing as well, and we are seeking to hire a Director of Partnerships and Business Performance to round out a dynamic Network Strategy team. Reporting to the Head of Business Performance, you will have an opportunity to develop and strengthen our relationships with key external health system partners, gaining a deep understanding of our partners’ clinical and operational needs. Representing our partners’ interests internally at One Medical, you will ensure alignment with our business strategy and goals. Additionally, the Director of Business Performance and Partnerships will be responsible for building and scaling a standard approach to managing existing external partnerships, while leveraging these best practices to facilitate continued growth. Within a heavily matrixed structure, you will set realistic goals, manage expectations, prioritize needs and develop solutions across competing interests.

If you are relentlessly customer-focused, enjoy collaborating across different disciplines at both the C-suite level as well as the front lines, create structure out of ambiguity, and are comfortable managing accountability across a complex, matrixed team, this opportunity could be a strong fit for you. You need to be skilled at operating with a high level of autonomy and be comfortable with ambiguity in rapidly-changing, high-growth environments. You have a history of consistently exceeding objectives and developing high-quality client relationships and are ready to bring that experience and drive to the exciting growth at One Medical!

What you'll work on:

  • Manage external partnerships with key health systems, and act as their internal champion and advocate
  • Develop and execute project plans, including reporting, communications and accountabilities, for facilitating integration and ongoing performance with partners
  • Manage communication related to our partnerships internally, as well as with stakeholders at the partner organizations
  • Coordinate core internal cross-functional capabilities (operations, clinical, recruiting, real estate, billing, IT, marketing, analytics, and more) required to deliver on client or partner commitments throughout entire lifecycle (from implementation through to ongoing management and expansion)
  • Drive performance to KPIs and equip internal teams to monitor and benchmark success to meet and exceed SLAs and internal targets across One Medical’s eight pillars of performance.
  • Own the satisfaction and renewal of One Medical’s health system partnerships

What you’ll need:

  • 7+ years experience working in or with complex integrated health systems, with a track record of success in cross-functional project leadership, business development, account management, strategy or management consulting
  • Professional experience in managing projects, relationships or strategic initiatives required
  • Excellent project management and time management skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Outstanding communication skills and ability to influence and persuade both internal teams and external partners, including experience working directly with executive audiences
  • Master’s level preparation in Healthcare, Finance, Business or Public Health preferred
