The Capital Markets Director role will play a crucial role in building a dedicated capital markets function and evolving the foundational capital structure of the business. This role requires the ability to manage the capital needs of a rapidly expanding portfolio of Single Family Rental assets as we are scaling quickly. It will be a unique opportunity to leverage your capital markets expertise, relationships, and creative problem solving to acquire the equity and debt capital needed to improve the lives of seniors and drive sustainable growth of the company.
You’ll own
- Drive our capital markets strategy and execution, including strategic management of existing facilities and planning for pending capital raises and expansion opportunities, this includes high level contributions along with corresponding complex financial modeling, presentation building, and relationship management
- Serve as key advisor to leadership team by providing market insights and development of monthly/quarterly capital markets reports to assess impact of various funding opportunities and strategic capital decisions, and market timing
- Monitor covenant compliance and build framework for compliance tracking at the portfolio and facility level across our SFR platform
- Work cross functionally with leadership, product and engineering teams to muscle up our technology strategy focused on building the most efficient capital markets function in investment management / proptech
- Roll up your sleeves and help build the process and team dedicated to data tape preparation for loan draws on pools of newly acquired/stabilized single family homes to ensure accurate and timely delivery of required data for JV / Warehouse equity and debt facilities
- Grow and lead team responsible for liaising with third party diligence agents as part of collateral prep for loan draws and potential securitizations
You bring
- 6+ years of experience in investment banking, finance, asset management, private equity, or similar capital markets role with a Single Family Rental (SFR) investment firm
- Experience in defining and negotiating asset-backed financing and securitization
- Strong understanding of capital markets, funding strategies, and structured products with intimate understanding of single family residential transaction process, capital structures and SFR landscape
- Strong problem-solving skills and business judgment, able to make data-driven strategic decisions
- Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail and ability to lead multiple projects concurrently
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Self-starter with eagerness to take ownership and independently drive projects to completion
- Experience in residential real estate, SFR and/or data analytics strongly preferred
