Director of Cloud Operations - Remote US

Our company is seeking an experienced Director of Cloud Operations to manage and optimize our AWS infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud security, governance, and management, along with a proven track record of scaling infrastructure in a fast-paced environment. The Director of Cloud Operations will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of our cloud environment as we continue to expand.

• Develop and implement cloud security strategies, policies, and practices to protect our systems and data.
• Establish and enforce governance and compliance standards to ensure the secure and efficient use of cloud resources.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and design scalable and cost-effective cloud solutions.
• Optimize cloud infrastructure performance, availability, and scalability to meet the demands of our rapidly growing business.
• Continuously monitor and analyze cloud usage, costs, and performance to identify opportunities for optimization and cost savings.
• Implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure the resilience of our cloud environment.
• Stay up to date with the latest cloud technologies, best practices, and industry trends to drive innovation and efficiency.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in software development or infrastructure support and operations.
• 4+ years of experience in cloud operations.
• 3 years experience in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services and architectures, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, and IAM.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing secure and scalable cloud architectures.
• Familiarity with cloud security best practices and industry standards, such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR.
• Experience with cloud cost management and optimization techniques.
• Strong understanding of networking, infrastructure automation, and scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with a focus on root cause analysis and prevention.
• Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
