Director of Data Science & Analytics

We are looking for a senior leader for our Analytics and Data Science team. This role reports to the SVP of Business Applications.

As the Director of Analytics and Data Science at Podium, you will work closely with the executive team to drive Podium to be a rigorously data-driven company.  The ideal candidate will have a wealth of experience creating insights using data that change the strategy and trajectory of a company.

What you will be doing:

• Build a world-class centralized data analytics team by hiring, coaching, and fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.  Your team serves the entire company with ~15 analysts and engineers today, and is expected to double in the next 2-3 years.
• Lead the team to build and maintain our analytics technology stack, including Snowflake, Tableau, FiveTran, and DBT.
• Collaborate with the SVP of BizApps, the CTO, and the entire executive team to identify and build robust data analytics that are central to how we run the business.  You’re expected to be the thought leader for how to think about using analytics at Podium.
• Build strong partnerships with cross-functional leaders that emphasize both serving their data needs and helping them define their data-driven strategy. 
• Be the principal evangelist and advocate for data-driven decision making at Podium, with strong support from the CTO

What you should have:

• 8+ years of experience in modern analytics and data science teams, including 4+ years in a leadership role.
• Track record of building, managing, and growing diverse teams of up to 20 data analysts, data scientists, and data engineers.
• Deep expertise in modern data and analytics pipelines, including Snowflake and Tableau.
• "Hands-on" operating style and approach - you don’t fly at a single altitude; you’re able to dive deep when you need to and to stay high-level and strategic when appropriate.
• Strategic thinker – ability to operate as a senior leader and create insights using data that change the strategy of the company.
• Proven executor - proven ability to convert the high-level strategy to a tactical plan and then diligently execute and deliver it.

What we hope you have:

• Deep experience building predictive models for sales, revenue churn, and sales expansion.
• Experience partnering with an Account Management organization to drive deeper understanding of customer usage, customer churn, and revenue expansion.
• Experience partnering with a Marketing organization to build robust end-to-end attribution systems as the foundation for Marketing to operate.
