This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Director of Data Management in the United States.

This is a senior technical leadership role responsible for defining and scaling the enterprise data ecosystem that powers analytics, automation, and AI-driven decision-making. You will lead the design of a unified, modern data platform built on Microsoft technologies, ensuring it is scalable, secure, and AI-ready. The role sits at the intersection of data architecture, governance, and business strategy, requiring close collaboration with executive leadership and cross-functional IT and business teams. You will be accountable for transforming complex, fragmented data environments into a single source of truth that supports operational and strategic decision-making. In addition to platform ownership, you will lead initiatives in Power Platform, AI integration, and enterprise data governance. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in complex, high-growth, and transformation-driven environments.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and governance of the enterprise data platform using Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, and Azure Data Lake, ensuring scalability and performance.
  • Build and maintain a unified lakehouse architecture supporting real-time and batch analytics, reporting, and AI workloads.
  • Develop and implement enterprise semantic models, dimensional data structures, and end-to-end data pipelines across business domains.
  • Oversee Power Platform strategy (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse), including governance, reporting standards, and automation initiatives.
  • Drive AI and machine learning integration across the data ecosystem using Azure Machine Learning, Microsoft Copilot, and Azure OpenAI services.
  • Establish enterprise data governance frameworks, including data quality, lineage, classification, stewardship, and lifecycle management.
  • Implement and manage data cataloging and governance tools (e.g., Microsoft Purview), ensuring compliance and audit readiness.
  • Define and monitor data quality KPIs, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reliability across all enterprise systems.
  • Lead systems integration efforts across ERP, PSA, and financial planning tools, ensuring seamless data flows and consistency across platforms.
  • Partner with executive leadership and business units to translate strategic needs into scalable data solutions and roadmaps.
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing data management team, fostering capability development and operational excellence.
  • Manage vendor relationships, budgets, and external contractors as part of enterprise data operations.
  • Requirements:

    • 10+ years of experience in data management, business intelligence, or enterprise data architecture.
    • 5+ years of senior leadership experience with direct people management responsibility.
    • Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Fabric, Azure data services (Synapse, Data Factory, Data Lake, Databricks), and Power BI.
    • Proven experience designing enterprise-scale data platforms, semantic models, and analytics solutions in complex environments.
    • Deep knowledge of data engineering practices, including SQL, Python, ETL/ELT pipelines, and API-based integrations.
    • Experience implementing data governance frameworks and tools such as Microsoft Purview or equivalent platforms.
    • Strong understanding of AI/ML integration within enterprise data ecosystems, including Azure OpenAI and machine learning models.
    • Experience integrating ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Business Central) and PSA or enterprise tools into unified data environments.
    • Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence C-level leadership.
    • Background in complex, multi-entity, or post-merger environments with distributed data systems.
    • Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer Associate, Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate) preferred.
    • Experience in managed services or IT services environments is a plus.
    • Benefits:

      • Competitive salary range of $150,000–$175,000 USD annually
      • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
      • 401(k) retirement plan
      • Paid time off and generous holiday policies
      • Remote-first work environment with flexibility
      • Opportunity to lead enterprise-wide data transformation and AI initiatives
      • Professional growth in a high-impact, innovation-driven organization
      • Exposure to cutting-edge Microsoft data and AI technologies
      • Collaborative, people-first culture focused on continuous learning and development.
