As the Director of Employee Relations, you will lead a team that is responsible for developing and driving people-focused policies and programs that will ensure an amazing experience for our most valuable asset - Our People! You will partner closely with leaders at all levels to build company-wide initiatives such as performance management systems and retention strategies and will act as their advisor and coach through all employee relations matters. You will also partner closely with the People Operations and Legal Team to ensure organizational success and build a world-class culture.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead a high-performing team dedicated to building and communicating company-wide employee relations strategies 
  • Partner with executives and senior leaders to build amazing teams and work through org planning, succession planning, and performance management systems
  • Lead senior leaders through organizational changes and performance-based exits (such as org changes, job eliminations, and involuntary exits) 
  • Lead internal investigations on employee-related matters, recommend solutions, and support leaders and individuals with the facilitation of the resolution. Provide coaching to leaders through the appropriate corrective action. 
  • Provide strategic business partnerships and coaching to all levels of the organization 
  • Ensure company-wide governance and compliance with company policies and practices and employment laws
  • Partner with the People Operations team to drive key culture, retention, and people-focused initiatives that ensure an exceptional employee experience 
  • Leverage data to proactively solve employee-related issues and lead internal reviews and audits of employee relations data and processes. Develop metrics and reports to monitor outcomes
  • Maintain an understanding of key HR industry trends and best practices and incorporate them into Podium’s operations 

What you should have:

  • 7+ years of experience working as an Employee Relations and/or HR Business Partner with specific experience partnering and influencing senior leaders to drive people strategies
  • 2+ years of people leadership experience
  • Deep domain experience in the areas of employee relations, workplace investigations, conflict resolution, position eliminations, critical exit matters, performance management, and employee well-being concerns 
  • In-depth understanding of U.S. employment and human resources-related laws, policies, regulations, concepts, and practices, including ADA, ADEA, and FMLA.
  • Experience building a company-wide (or large-scale) system such as a performance management program or retention program (or something similar) 
  • Experience partnering with senior leadership on succession planning, organizational designs, and reorgs 
  • Ability to work collaboratively and influence at all levels of the organization 
  • Ability to deliver on a variety of large-scale, high-priority initiatives simultaneously, while keeping all partners and leaders informed
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct research, analyze data, problem solve and design clear processes
