About The Role :

We are seeking an innovative and experienced Director of Medium and Heavy Duty (MHD) Zero Emission Transportation Program Development. The Director will play a crucial role in shaping and driving the strategic vision for MHD zero-emission transportation initiatives working closely with the VP of Trucks Off-road & Marketing. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of MHD transportation systems robust program management skills and a passion for environmental sustainability.

This role reports into the Vice President Trucks & Off Road.

What You'll Do:

  • Responsible for but not limited to:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and lead the strategic direction for MHD zero-emission transportation programs.

  • Identify and capitalize on emerging trends and opportunities in the MHD zero-emission sector.

  • Work collaboratively with the VP and senior leadership to align program goals with CALSTART’s mission and objectives.

Program Development and Implementation:

  • Design develop and oversee the implementation of innovative MHD zero-emission transportation programs.

  • Secure funding through grants partnerships and other financial opportunities to support program initiatives.

  • Establish comprehensive project plans including goals deliverables timelines and budgets.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders including industry partners government agencies and community organizations.

  • Facilitate collaborations and partnerships to advance MHD zero-emission transportation goals.

  • Represent CALSTART at industry events forums and conferences.

Policy Advocacy and Research:

  • Conduct in-depth research on MHD zero-emission transportation technologies market trends and regulatory landscapes.

  • Advocate for favorable policies and regulations to support the adoption of MHD zero-emission vehicles and infrastructure.

  • Develop policy recommendations white papers and position statements.

Communication and Outreach:

  • Lead communication efforts to promote the benefits and advancements of MHD zero-emission transportation.

  • Prepare and disseminate reports case studies and other educational materials.

  • Engage with media and contribute to public relations activities to enhance program visibility.

Monitoring and Evaluation:

  • Establish metrics and evaluation frameworks to monitor program performance and impact.

  • Ensure continuous improvement through regular program reviews and feedback.

  • Prepare detailed reports on program outcomes and financial status for internal and external stakeholders.

What You'll Bring To The Table:

  • Master’s degree in Environmental Science Engineering Public Policy Business Administration or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in program development and management with a focus on transportation or environmental sectors.

  • Extensive knowledge of MHD transportation systems zero-emission technologies and related policies.

  • Demonstrated success in securing funding and managing large-scale projects.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.

  • Exceptional communication negotiation and interpersonal skills.

  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Commitment to environmental sustainability and clean transportation innovation.

Additional Details:

  • This position requires travel to attend meetings conferences and site visits as needed.

$117260 - $140712 a year

CALSTART values transparency and strives to provide as much information regarding compensation as possible. The complete salary range for this role is $117260 -$140712. We determine pay based on several factors including but not limited to job-related skills qualifications experience education internal equity and other factors relevant to the job.
