Position Overview

Valimail is actively seeking a Director of Product Marketing to play a pivotal role in refining our market positioning and messaging. Reporting directly to the VP of Marketing, this individual will be instrumental in shaping Valimail's image as a technology leader within the industry. This individual  will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product, sales, and partners, to develop and execute impactful go-to-market strategies that drive Valimail's growth.

The ideal candidate for this role possesses a proven track record in market research, competitive analysis, and the development of compelling customer stories. They should excel in creating consistent messaging themes, implementing feature adoption strategies, executing successful product launches, and managing comprehensive product marketing programs. Experience targeting mid-market and enterprise segments, particularly in the cybersecurity and email domain, is crucial.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Go-To-Market Strategy: Lead cross-functional collaboration for the development and execution of go-to-market strategies, ensuring persona-specific messaging and differentiation throughout the buyer lifecycle.
  • ICP, Buyer Personas, and Buyers’ Journey: Define and refine ideal customer profiles, buyer personas, and buyer's journey to guide integrated campaign development, becoming a subject matter expert on Valimail's product suite.
  • Positioning and Messaging:  Lead the development of differentiated positioning and messaging for Valimail's products, crafting compelling narratives to set them apart from competitors, and ensure consistent implementation, adoption, and maintenance of these solution-selling strategies across the organization to foster a unified brand image.
  • Market Research, Analysis, and Data-Driven Insights: Conduct comprehensive research and analysis, staying current on market trends, competitive landscape, and identifying new opportunities to inform data-driven strategic decisions.
  • Pricing & Packaging Ownership: Provide relevant market research, competitive insights, and customer feedback to inform product development and lead pricing &  packaging exercises to support go-to-market strategy.
  • Collateral Development: Author various collateral and content formats, including data/sell sheets, case studies, ROI models, and sales enablement materials, to educate and engage diverse audiences.
  • Product Launches: Drive successful product launches by developing plans, coordinating cross-functional teams, and providing end-to-end metrics on progress against competitors to increase end-user adoption.
  • Cross-functional SME Guidance: Guide marketing teams for effective strategies, collaborate with product management and sales for new launches, and act as a product/solution brand ambassador.

About You

  • 8+ years of B2B Product Marketing experience, ideally within the cybersecurity or email space.
  • Experience in developing, executing, and measuring go-to-market strategies, collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams, including product, marketing, partner, and sales teams.
  • Proficient in sales enablement best practices, adept at developing customer stories, and capable of translating technical concepts for diverse audiences.
  • A strategic thinker with a strong focus on ownership, collaboration, and teamwork, capable of operating at both a strategic and tactical level.
  • Proficient in market analysis, competitive research, and product launches, demonstrating a strategic approach to product positioning.
  • Proven ability to develop compelling narratives and content across various formats, showcasing creativity and storytelling prowess.
