As the Director of Protective Operations, you will lead our investigations, dignitary/special event protection, intelligence program, technical security and employee surety program. You will also establish and maintain appropriate internal and external relationships, ensure program integrity and quality security services are provided at multiple CCHS sites, and demonstrate excellent people, organizational and administrative skills to achieve Protective Services goals. This job will currently be located in the state of Florida.

Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Leads the Florida investigative, dignitary/special event and executive protection program, which preserves a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors and employees.
- Manages and implements process for background checks, screening and fingerprinting of new employees, new residents/fellows at CCHS orientations and nonemployees.
- Organizes and prioritizes goals to support overall effectiveness, efficiency and productivity.
- Develops operating budget for various functions and budgetary projections in anticipation of growth.
- Collects and benchmarks data health system wide, analyzes data and develops recommendations for improvements to include consistent standards and procedures as well as best practices.
- Establishes and reviews plans, programs, and agreements that are comprehensive, realistic and effective in meeting security needs.
- Orchestrates multiple plans to accomplish goals, utilizing resources effectively and efficiently.
- Acts as an investigative resource to CCHS's General Counsel, HR and other Departments on issues of security, safety and employee conduct.
- Evaluates strategies and makes recommendations regarding CCHS's short- and long-term security, safety and risk management needs.
- Drafts proposed policies/procedures regarding CCHS security, safety and other protective services issues.
- Conducts periodic reviews to ensure proper implementation and administration of approved CCHS policies/procedures through security assessment process.
- In concert with the CC Protective Services Department, cultivates and maintains an ongoing cooperative working relationship with public and private law enforcement and intelligence agencies at the Federal, State and Municipal levels of government within the state of Florida.
- In coordination with the Protective Services Global Security Operations Center and Crime Analyst, directs and oversees the collection of protective intelligence information.
- Assists in the development of training programs and curriculum on security and safety topics and may conduct certain training programs for CCHS, i.e., Drug Diversion.
- In concert with the Director of Technical Protective Operations, leads the design, integration, deployment and operational management of technical security function for Cleveland Clinic.
- Oversees electronic access control, key control, identification badges, CCTV, alarms, Security/Police investigation support and security administrative services.
- Prioritizes technical security project management in Florida locations.
- Provide strategic direction for infrastructure and end-user support; deliver extraordinary customer service for end-user support.
- Provide senior management with an enterprise-wide perspective and put strategies and plans for Technical Operations into context with other projects and associated risks.
- Directs and oversees the collection of protective intelligence information relevant to Florida locations as well as pertinent international travel destinations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Master's Degree preferred.
Certifications:
- Valid Florida Driver's license (VDL), meeting CC Florida insurance requirements.
Complexity of Work:
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Excellent organizational, administrative and people skills required.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and coordinate multiple programs at multiple sites.
- Strong customer service orientation and the ability to analyze, evaluate, recommend and implement sound and effective solutions to problems is extremely essential.
- Skill in oral communication and negotiation in order to interact effectively and diplomatically with personnel and officials at all levels within and outside the organization.
- In-depth skill in analytical reasoning and ability to apply that skill to the identification, analysis, and development of alternatives.
Work Experience:
- A minimum of 7 years of law enforcement experience including 3 years of management experience required.
- Significant investigative and/or protection experience at the federal government level.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires standing, walking and sitting.
- Normal or corrected vision, hearing and speech.
- Travel to various communities/countries may be required.
- Ability to drive between multiple sites and availability to work off hours.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
