This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Director of Technical Accounting - REMOTE. In this pivotal role, you will lead a high-impact team and become the subject matter expert on critical technical accounting issues. Your expertise will guide the organization through complex transactions while ensuring compliance with US GAAP. By fostering collaboration with key stakeholders, you will facilitate the implementation of new accounting standards. You will also serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, positively influencing strategic initiatives that enhance our financial integrity and reporting practices.

Accountabilities

  • Serve as the technical accounting subject matter expert, providing guidance on complex accounting matters.
  • Lead technical accounting research and prepare technical memoranda and recommendations.
  • Monitor and assess new accounting standards and lead their implementation across the organization.
  • Evaluate accounting impacts in partnership with key stakeholders from various departments.
  • Provide technical guidance on U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership regarding accounting implications.
  • Ensure transparency and accuracy in external disclosures and filings.
  • Serve as the liaison with external auditors to minimize audit risk.
  • Mentor and develop a team of technical accounting professionals.
  • Support finance transformation initiatives and business process changes.
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive technical accounting/SEC experience.
  • 3-5 years of public accounting experience, preferably with Big 4 firms.
  • CPA certification required.
  • Proven ability to manage complex priorities in a public company reporting environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills for complex accounting issues.
  • Ability to operate independently and drive issues to resolution.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration across various business stakeholders.
  • Extensive experience with US GAAP and SEC regulations.
