Director, Operations & Strategy

As the Director, Operations & Strategy, you will act as a de facto chief of staff to the President, providing critical support and insight into the strategic decision-making process. This role offers a unique opportunity to have a ringside view of the inner workings of a disruptive leader in freight tech, influencing its trajectory and participating directly in executive-level discussions.

Reporting to the President and collaborating with the Senior Leadership Team, the right candidate will be excited at the prospect of having a front seat to drive operational strategy across departments and geographies in support of FourKites’ goal to provide best-in-class supply chain visibility and orchestration. The successful candidate will build team systems and processes in order to ensure efficient and effective business operations, and drive the strategic direction outlined and agreed upon by the Executive Leadership Team and our Board. What you will do

• Lead cross-functional strategic and operational projects focused on improving productivity, customer experience, and health 
• Work with the team to ensure that we maintain our core values and an entrepreneurial spirit and collaborative environment
• Manage day-to-day activities in support of strategic goals
• Monitor progress against deadlines and milestones (e.g. quarterly business reviews, board meetings, strategic planning, etc.)
• Manage staff meetings and draft meeting agendas with input from other team members
• Implement and maintain programmatic frameworks and OKRs

Who you are

• BS, MBA preferred from a leading institution with a strong academic background in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Economics). Exposure to supply chain management is desirable but not required
• 5+ years of experience and successful track record setting priorities and ensuring strategic execution, ideally within tech
• Highly analytical, data driven approach; excels in organizational problem-solving, strategic thinking, and project management skills often found in management consulting, investment banking or operations management
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working closely with high-level executives and diverse teams.
• Demonstrated ability to operate in high-pressure environments, managing multiple priorities with meticulous attention to detail
• Passion for technology; intellectual curiosity, integrity and ability to succeed in an entrepreneurial environment essential
