Microsoft's Cloud business is experiencing explosive growth, and the Capacity, Supply Chain & Provisioning (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the infrastructure underlying this growth. Our mission is to deliver the world's computer with an industry-leading supply chain. CSCP is responsible for strategic sourcing, customer demand forecasting, capacity planning and management, supply chain planning and execution, capacity provisioning, and decommissioning and dispositioning of datacenter assets worldwide.
The Supply Chain New Product Introduction (NPI) organization within CSCP drives new product deliverables across the supply chain, working closely with Engineering, Product Management and other key NPI functions to ensure time to market growth readiness for all new products. Well defined supply chain NPI processes ensure predictable on-time performance, optimized for cost, prevents urgent unplanned investments and provides accurate, timely product readiness across the supply chain organization. Our focus is on smart growth, high efficiency, delivering a trusted experience to customers and partners worldwide. We are looking for a Director, Product Engineering Program Manager (New Product Introduction) to help build and create sustainable advantage throughout the product development process.
Responsibilities:
The Director, Product Engineering Program Manager (New Product Introduction) will be an individual contributor role responsible for managing key clod based NPI programs and for driving process improvements, improved effectiveness, and increased rigor across CSCP as well as our core team partners.
- Provide thought leadership for the Supply Chain NPI team to drive faster time to market
- Develop core capabilities needed to scale the Supply Chain NPI team
- Drive fulfilment and execution with focus on speed and predictability
- Manage key strategic partnerships across the Cloud business from a supply chain management and New Product Introduction
- Identify business transformation opportunities to drive increased efficiency and predictability in the new product readiness
- Work with internal partners to develop business requirements and roadmap for to improve the tooling as well as advanced data & amp; analytics
- Partner with key partners from Planning, Sourcing and Deployment to drive end-to-end improvements across the Cloud Supply Chain NPI process
- Lead business reviews at operational and executive levels through presentations
- Connect the dots across product portfolio to provide a succinct picture of key inputs, changes and overall impact to business regularly
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Hardware Engineering or related field AND 5+ years experience in technical engineering, manufacturing, operations, hardware development
- OR equivalent experience in technical engineering, manufacturing, operations or a related area.
- 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Operations or related fields.
Background Check Requirments:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience leading and developing high performing teams
- Background and experience leading a hardware engineering function within high tech company
- 5+ years' experience in global, electronics, high tech manufacturing
- Experience in project or program management with proven track record of successfully setting up and executing supply chain operational processes
- Cloud supply chain experience is a plus
NPI Product Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.
