This role is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing provider contracting and network strategy across a multi-state territory. The Director will lead a team of contracting professionals to establish, negotiate, and maintain agreements with healthcare providers, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective networks. The role combines strategic planning, financial analysis, and operational leadership to drive network performance and provider relationships. It requires strong expertise in reimbursement methodologies, contract preparation, and value-based care models. This position involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, influencing organizational strategies, and occasional travel to support business objectives. Accountabilities:

  • Lead a team of contracting executives and professionals to negotiate and execute provider agreements, including physicians, hospitals, and ancillary providers.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance network quality, access, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Analyze financial and operational impacts of contracts, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Maintain accurate contract documentation and tracking systems for all executed agreements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, recruit, and retain providers based on network needs and composition.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on provider contracting, reimbursement methodologies, and value-based care initiatives.
  • Monitor performance metrics and drive continuous improvement in contracting and network operations.
  • Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (Master’s or J.D.) preferred.
    • Minimum of 8 years of healthcare or health insurance experience.
    • At least 4 years of provider contracting and provider network experience.
    • Proven leadership experience, including team building and performance management.
    • Strong financial acumen with experience analyzing trends and contract impacts.
    • Knowledge of Medicare, ACO, risk-based, and value-based contracting.
    • Excellent negotiation, communication, and strategic decision-making skills.
    • Ability to manage a multi-state territory and travel as required (quarterly minimum).
