As our Director, QA you will….

Be Accountable and Responsible

Leading, growing, and guiding MERGE’s QA department, implementing best practices and processes, while mentoring and managing the overall team. Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to advance MERGE’s QA team to incorporate new ideas, techniques, and tools, including operational efficiencies and automation.

You will work closely with resource management for QA resource allocation and capacity planning, based on project needs.

Core functional responsibilities include:  

  • End-to-end involvement in the development lifecycle, including early stages to create estimates and to develop testing plans
  • Oversight of test plan creation and execution 
  • Ability to work in both agile and waterfall methodologies 
  • Familiarity with all tech industry standard tools, such as JIRA, Smartsheet, Confluence, etc. 
  • Execute both manual and automated testing across all digital channels, including responsive websites, mobile content, kiosks, devices, etc., QAing for bugs, misspellings, cross-browser inconsistencies, and cross-platform errors
  • Evaluate defects, assess severity, provide clear instructions for reproducing bugs, and make triage recommendations
  • Spearhead automation and focus on continuous process optimization and improvement
  • If applicable, manage an offshore team and coordination efforts
  • Engage in the development of sprint planning and scrum meetings
  • Provide summary status and dashboards to the broader team to assess open issues and estimate regression testing
  • Translate user stories, as provided by the Experience team, into test cases
  • Monitor project schedules and team progress
  • Create project reports and presentations for the senior leadership, as required to provide visibility

These are the qualifications we’re looking for

  • 8+ years experience working within a team as a QA resource, with 3+ years managing a team
  • Expertise with Salesforce, Adobe, and Sitecore, with an emphasis on content management systems and front-end testing
  • Ability to implement automation, and be familiar with automated test platforms
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Experience with accessibility testing tools and methodologies
