Job Summary
The Director, Record to Report (R2R) is an integral Finance leader providing leadership of global R2R business process, ownership of delivery, driving consistency of global business, maximizing value and operational efficiency while enabling a seamless accelerated close process and timely financial and management reporting. This leader defines and translates strategy into operational goals and objectives for their process, leads and prioritizes transformation projects and process improvements. They drive solutions for evolving business needs, identify gaps and address issues that limit efficient, effective, and compliant business processes and remediate process deficiencies.
Job Responsibilities:
- Establishes and communicates a clear vision for the Record to Report end to end process area in collaboration with leader, Finance peers and cross-functional stakeholders
- Defines and translates strategy into a multi-quarter/year agile roadmap including objectives, operational goals and workback plans
- Owns, centralizes and standardizes management and delivery of the company's global financial close processes to ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual global financial statement results and appropriate support for management reporting
- Identifies, plans and executes flawlessly on policy and process improvements aimed at standardization, automation, accuracy, timeliness, productivity improvements, risk mitigation
- Leads organizational transition into a fit-for-purpose operating model for Record to Report activities, centralizing and standardizing responsibilities and processes as appropriate - including but not limited to transaction processing, period close, reconciliation & reporting, master data management
- Builds and maintains relationships throughout the organization, establishes process governance, working collaboratively with Finance peers to identify improvement opportunities and champions a culture of continuous improvement
- Provides timely and accurate reporting, analytics & process metrics - delivering visibility and meaningful insights to support business decision making and improve R2R process performance
- Supports corporate strategic initiatives and other Finance transformation projects through active participation and providing process insights & support
- Leads, engages and elevates team through mentoring, coaching, creating opportunities and experiences to help team members learn and grow
- Ensures robust compliance and controls in the R2R area mitigating key business and operational risks
- Bachelor's Degree Required
- CPA or Other Accounting Designation Preferred
- MBA/PMP Preferred
Required
- Typically requires a minimum 12 years related experience across Finance & Accounting working in a global organization
- Minimum 5 years leadership experience, preferably leading both individual contributors and people leaders
- Strong Shared Services/GBS background including operational excellence, service delivery, process transformation and optimization, system implementations, program and change management
- Knowledge of US GAAP and SOX, solid understanding of accounting principles
- Strategic thinker with proven ability to build vision and gain alignment across the organization with strong influencing skills; and an equal passion and ability to implement and execute
- Experience leading complex and ambitious programs and initiatives, through careful planning and prioritization, astute project and stakeholder management delivering superior results
- Track record of leading globally dispersed cross-functional teams and elevating the capabilities of an organization
- Must possess solid communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills and the ability to work with enterprise-wide information systems
- Must demonstrate passion and proven success in driving continuous process improvements
- Ability to manage conflict and pressure by effectively facilitating healthy discussion and decision making that builds alignment
- SAP experience preferred
- Lean and Six Sigma training and/or certification is preferred
The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
